ETNOVIDEOGRÁFICA 2025 – INTERNATIONAL ETHNOGRAPHIC FESTIVAL is a biennial festival dedicated to the multiple expressions of ethnographic documentary and committed to the great ethical and social diversity of sociocultural contexts existing around the world. The festival intends to reflect the human, cultural and social diversity of our planet.

We understand ethnographic documentary in a wide and interdisciplinary sense - as any audiovisual production which main purpose is to show different cultural, social, political, historical, aesthetic and economic realities present in the world we all share.

Both the Official Section and the Castilla y León Section of the festival can be enjoyed in person at the Ethnographic Museum of Castilla y León (MECYL) from 11th to 16th of November 2025. This will be its eighth edition.

• The festival will grant two awards:

- Honorific Cowbell Award recognising remarkable trajectories in the documentation of intangible cultural heritage in audiovisual, photographic and/or sound formats. A trophy (cowbell intervened by an emerging artist of Castilla y León) and a commemorative plaque.

- Regional Cowbell Award for the best documentary produced in Castilla y León, consisting of a trophy (cowbell intervened by an emerging artist of Castilla y León) and a HD video projector.

• The jury will grant two awards:

- The Jury Cowbell Award for the best documentary, consisting of a trophy (cowbell intervened by an emerging artist of Castilla y León) and a HD video projector.

- Jury Little-Cowbell Award for the best short documentary, under 20 minutes of duration, consisting of a trophy (cowbell intervened by an emerging artist of Castilla y León) and a HD video projector.

• Festival audiences can also express their appreciation of the films by voting for the Audience Award. The film rated highest will receive the Audience Cowbell Award, consisting of a trophy (cowbell intervened by an emerging artist of Castilla y León) and a HD video projector.

• The Jury may opt to also award special mentions or grant extraordinary awards, as well as to not award some of the three official prizes listed above. There will only be one single winner for each award.

• The Direction of ETNOVIDEOGRÁFICA 2025 – INTERNATIONAL ETHNOGRAPHIC FESTIVAL will select a Jury composed by three professionals from the audio-visual, ethnographic and cultural fields.

• All decisions made by the juries are final and will be published in the official Festival website.
