EMERGE is set to take place on October 5, 2024 at the iconic Orange Show Center for Visionary Art located in Houston, TX. We are committed to discovering and supporting emerging filmmakers from the Southeast Texas region. EMERGE offers an opportunity for new and emerging artists whom have not yet received a distribution deal for any of their work and have not yet completed a feature length film.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
EMERGE Arts, Music & Film Festival aims to capture the imagination of audiences and contribute to the vitality of film culture by providing artists with an opportunity to showcase their work in a vibrant and nurturing atmosphere at The Orange Show. Attendees will be drawn to the area to experience exciting new art, music and films by both new and emerging independent artists, and for the opportunity to mingle with artists at a fun and family friendly day event.
ABOUT SWAMP
The Southwest Alternate Media Project (SWAMP) is a non profit media arts organization based in Houston, Texas. It was established in 1977.
The Southwest Alternate Media Project was a co-sponsor of Houston Film Critics Society Awards 2010 and has provided production support for several notable feature films, including Last Night at the Alamo. SWAMP also recognized and supported the work of now noted filmmakers Richard Linklater, Robert Rodriguez, and Jane Campion. SWAMP was recognized and thanked for its assistance in the credits of three movies, Interface (1985) directed by Andy Anderson, Slacker (1991) directed by Richard Linklater, and Hannah and the Dog Ghost (1981) directed by Ken Harrison.
