Fueled by my Asian heritage and the prairie landscapes of Canada, my artistic practice is rooted in movement, tracing how the body carries memory, identity, and emotion across different worlds.
Dustin Chok is an Asian Canadian filmmaker based in Edmonton, Alberta. Rooted in the prairies and shaped by an ethnographic approach, his work grows out of long term relationships with the people and communities he films. He is interested in stories of identity, movement, memory, and belonging, and in the quiet emotional truths found in everyday life. Across documentary and dance film, his practice is guided by trust, immersion, and a belief that strong storytelling begins with real connection.
