Duran, is a graduate of The American Film Institute Conservatory (class of 2021), a 2020 PGA Power of Diversity workshop fellow, a Sundance Feature Film Producers Lab Fellow, and a winner of the Grand Prix and Best Producer Award at the Holly Shorts Film Festival, and a resident of the Mara Brock Akil "Writer's Colony." Currently building his film slate under his BLK MGC Content banner, the rapper turned filmmaker has forayed into the directing chair. The most recent short for the writer-director, “Time is Money,” premiered at the 2025 RiverRun Film Festival and snagged the Best Director award at the 2025 Diversity in Cannes Showcase. His upcoming documentary, “CHarriet,” about a key figure in the migration of black expats to Panama, is currently in post-production.
