2026 SHORT FILM COMPETITIONS

1) CORTO DORICO SHORT FILM COMPETITION - NATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION.

Conditions for participation:
1) Each author may compete with a maximum of two short films.
2) Short films by authors residing or domiciled in Italy (Italian or foreign), or also Italian citizens residing or domiciled abroad (including works in a foreign language) are eligible for the competition. Finally, short films by foreign citizens residing or domiciled abroad can participate, provided that the films are in the original Italian language.
3) Films admitted to the competition must meet the following requirements in order not to be excluded:
a) Have a duration of no more than 30 minutes including titles;
b) Have been completed after January 1st, 2025;
c) Have not already been selected in previous editions of the Dorico International Film Fest competitions;
d) Do not constitute advertising or industrial films.

2) SHORT ON RIGHTS COMPETITION - INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION ON HUMAN RIGHTS (NOT FOR ITALIAN FILMS)

Conditions for participation:
1) Each author may compete with a maximum of two short films.
2) Short films by authors of any nationality and language are admitted to the competition as long as they are not Italian (the CORTO DORICO NATIONAL COMPETITION is dedicated to authors of Italian nationality / language). The short films admitted to the competition can be of any genre, as long as they deal, even in unconventional ways or forms, with themes related to human rights, their violation and/or their upholding, according to what is guaranteed to each individual by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
3) Short films submitted into the competition must meet the following requirements in order not to be excluded:
a) Have a duration of no more than 30 minutes including titles;
b) Have been completed after January 1st, 2025;
c) Have not already been selected in previous editions of the Dorico International Film Fest competitions;
d) Do not constitute advertising or industrial films.

3A) shorTEEN COMPETITION - INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR SHORT FILMS FOR KIDS AND TEENAGERS (10-18 YEARS OLD)

Conditions for participation:
1) Each author may compete with a maximum of two short films.
2) Short films of any genre and nationality are admitted to the competition, provided they may be suitable for an audience in the pre-teen and teenage age group (10-18 years old);
3) Short films submitted into the competition must meet the following requirements in order not to be excluded:
a) Have a duration of no more than 30 minutes including titles;
b) Have been completed after January 1st, 2025;
c) Have not already been selected in previous editions of the Dorico International Film Fest competitions;
d) Do not constitute advertising or industrial films.

3B) shorTEEN COMPETITION FOR SCHOOL PROJECTS (PRIMARY SCHOOLS, SECONDARY SCHOOLS, FILM SCHOOLS FOR KIDS AND TEENS (10-18 YEARS OLD)

Conditions for participation:
1) Each author may compete with a maximum of two short films.
2) Short films of any genre and nationality are admitted to the competition, provided they were made by primary and secondary school children as part of film-related projects, as well as by private film schools aimed at young filmmakers (aged 10 to 18 years old);
3) Short films submitted into the competition must meet the following requirements in order not to be excluded:
a) Have a duration of no more than 30 minutes including titles;
b) Have been completed after January 1st, 2025;
c) Have not already been selected in previous editions of the Dorico International Film Fest competitions;
d) Do not constitute advertising or industrial films.

When submitting a film, the submitter must provide the name of the school that produced the project and the name of at least one supervising teacher and/or tutor.

3C) shorTEEN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR SHORT FILMS MADE BY YOUNG FILMMAKERS (AGED 13 TO 18 YEARS OLD)

Conditions for participation:
1) Each author may compete with a maximum of two short films.
2) Short films of any genre and nationality are admitted to the competition, provided they are directed or co-directed by young filmmakers aged between 13 and 18;
3) Short films submitted into the competition must meet the following requirements in order not to be excluded:
a) Have a duration of no more than 30 minutes including titles;
b) Have been completed after January 1st, 2025;
c) Have not already been selected in previous editions of the Dorico International Film Fest competitions;
d) Do not constitute advertising or industrial films.

When submitting a film, the submitter must indicate the age of the director or co-director of the short film, and the biography field must be properly completed in order to verify their age.

4) DORICO VIRTUALE COMPETITION - INTERNATIONAL VR 360 SHORT FILM COMPETITION

Conditions for participation:
1) Each author may compete with a maximum of two short films.
2) Short films of any genre and nationality are eligible for the competition, as long as they are made in the VR 360 format.
3) Short films submitted into the competition must meet the following requirements in order not to be excluded:
a) Have a duration of no more than 30 minutes including titles;
b) Have been completed after January 1st, 2025;
c) Have not already been selected in previous editions of the Dorico International Film Fest competitions;
d) Do not constitute advertising or industrial films.

5) ADRIATIC AWARD COMPETITION - INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR SHORT FILMS FROM SLOVENIA

Conditions for participation:
1) Each author may compete with a maximum of two short films.
2) Short films by authors born, residing and/or domiciled in Slovenia (Slovenian or foreign), or also Slovenian citizens residing or domiciled abroad (including films in languages other than Slovenian) are eligible for the competition. Finally, films by non-Slovenian citizens residing or domiciled elsewhere may participate, provided that the films are in the Slovenian language, and/or the film appears to be a Slovenian production or co-production.
3) Short films submitted into the competition must meet the following requirements in order not to be excluded:
a) Have a duration of no more than 30 minutes including titles;
b) Have been completed after January 1st, 2025;
c) Have not already been selected from previous editions of the Dorico International Film Fest competitions;
d) Do not constitute advertising or industrial films.

6) DORICO ALTROVE - INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR SHORT FILMS FROM BRAZIL

Conditions for participation:
1) Each author may compete with a maximum of two short films.
2) Short films by authors born, residing or domiciled in Brazil (Brazilian or foreign), or Brazilian citizens residing or domiciled abroad (including works in languages other than Brazilian-Portuguese) are eligible for the competition. Finally, works by non-Brazilian nationals residing or domiciled elsewhere may be submitted, as long as the films are in the Brazilian-Portuguese language, and/or the film appears to be a Brazilian production or co-production.
3) Short films submitted into the competition must meet the following requirements in order not to be excluded:
a) Have a duration of no more than 30 minutes including titles;
b) Have been completed after January 1st, 2025;
c) Have not already been selected from previous editions of the Dorico International Film Fest competitions;
d) Do not constitute advertising or industrial films.

ADDITIONAL NOTES VALID FOR ALL COMPETITIONS:

The entry fee allows the submission of up to 2 (two) short films and does not vary if you decide to submit only one film.

If a producer and/or distributor submits the film(s), he/she will be required to pay as many fees as there are films entered, if they are each by different directors. In case the producer and/or distributor submits more than one short film by the same director (respecting the maximum limit of two films for each individual author), he/she may avail himself/herself of paying only one fee per pair of films.

In order to submit the second short film by the same director free of charge, it will be necessary to submit the first short film through the FilmFreeway platform and then contact submissions@cortodorico.it to request a fee waiver for the second short film. Under no circumstances can this process be done automatically by the FilmFreeway platform. Fees for which fee waiver codes have not been requested via email in the manner specified in these regulations will not be refunded.

Upon registration, it is required to fill in all the fields provided in the form (contact information, bio, synopsis, film photos, director’s photo, etc.).

Films entered in the National Short Film Competition CORTO DORICO in languages other than Italian always require subtitling in Italian.

Films entered in the SHORT ON RIGHTS, shorTEEN, DORICO VIRTUALE, ADRIATIC AWARD, and DORICO ALTROVE International Competitions must always have English or Italian-language subtitles available

Accepted formats: mp4 / Quicktime Apple ProRes HQ / H264.

Film received as incomplete or illegible will not be considered.

The submitter of each film declares that he/she is the owner of all rights of use of the film and each of its components; he/she assures that its contents are within his/her disposal and do not violate the laws or regulations in force or the rights of third parties and in particular copyright, image rights, distinctive signs and patents for industrial inventions; he/she also assures and declares that the film does not have contents of a defamatory nature. In any case, the participant indemnifies the organization from all losses, damages, liabilities, costs, charges and/or expenses of any nature that may be incurred as a result of the content of the film and its public screening.

Submitted films will not be returned and will be part of the archival holdings of the Festival Organization. They may be shown for non-profit cultural and educational purposes. The Organization reserves the right to use the material received for any subsequent events with the obligation to cite the source and inform the authors or rights holders in advance.

Payment of prize money will be made within 120 days after the conclusion of the event.

1) CONCORSO CORTO DORICO - CONCORSO NAZIONALE CORTOMETRAGGI

Condizioni per la partecipazione:
1) Ogni autore potrà concorrere con un massimo di due opere.
2) Sono ammesse al concorso opere di autori residenti o domiciliati in Italia (italiani o stranieri), o anche cittadini italiani residenti o domiciliati all’estero (anche con opere in lingua straniera). Possono infine partecipare opere di cittadini stranieri, residenti o domiciliati all’estero, purché le opere siano in lingua originale italiana.
3) Le opere ammesse al concorso dovranno possedere i seguenti requisiti per non risultare escluse:
a) avere durata non superiore a 30' compresi i titoli;
b) essere state completate dopo il 1 gennaio 2025;
c) non essere state già selezionate nelle precedenti edizioni dei concorsi del Dorico International Film Fest;
d) non costituire filmati pubblicitari o industriali.

2) CONCORSO SHORT ON RIGHTS - CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE CORTOMETRAGGI A TEMA DIRITTI UMANI (NO CORTI ITALIANI)

Condizioni per la partecipazione:
1) Ogni autore potrà concorrere con un massimo di due opere.
2) Sono ammesse al concorso opere di autori di ogni nazionalità e lingua purché non di nazionalità italiana (agli autori di nazionalità italiana è dedicato il CONCORSO NAZIONALE CORTO DORICO). I cortometraggi ammessi alla selezione potranno essere di ogni genere, purché trattino, anche in modi o forme non convenzionali, temi legati ai diritti umani, alla loro violazione e/o alla loro difesa, secondo quanto garantito a ciascun individuo dalla Dichiarazione Universale dei Diritti Umani.
3) Le opere ammesse al concorso dovranno possedere i seguenti requisiti per non risultare escluse:
a) avere durata non superiore a 30' compresi i titoli;
b) essere state completate dopo il 1 gennaio 2025;
c) non essere state già selezionate delle precedenti edizioni dei concorsi del Dorico International Film Fest;
b) non costituire filmati pubblicitari o industriali.

3A) CONCORSO shorTEEN - CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE CORTOMETRAGGI PER BAMBINI E RAGAZZI (10-18 ANNI)

Condizioni per la partecipazione:
1) Ogni autore potrà concorrere con un massimo di due opere.
2) Sono ammesse al concorso opere di qualsiasi genere e nazionalità, purché siano, per tematiche, stili e soluzioni narrative, adatte ad un pubblico in età preadolescenziale ed adolescenziale (10-18 anni);
3) Le opere ammesse al concorso dovranno possedere i seguenti requisiti per non risultare escluse:
a) avere durata non superiore a 30' compresi i titoli;
b) essere state completate dopo il 1 gennaio 2025;
c) non essere state già selezionate delle precedenti edizioni dei concorsi del Dorico International Film Fest;
d) non costituire filmati pubblicitari o industriali.

3B) CONCORSO shorTEEN SCHOOLS - CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE CORTOMETRAGGI DA PROGETTI SCOLASTICI (SCUOLE PRIMARIE, SCUOLE SECONDARIE, SCUOLE DI CINEMA PER BAMBINI E RAGAZZI)

Condizioni per la partecipazione:
1) Ogni autore potrà concorrere con un massimo di due opere.
2) Sono ammesse al concorso opere di qualsiasi genere e nazionalità, purché siano realizzate da ragazzi delle scuole primarie e secondarie nell’ambito di progetti legati al cinema, nonché da scuole di cinema private rivolte a giovani e giovanissimi cineasti;
3) Le opere ammesse al concorso dovranno possedere i seguenti requisiti per non risultare escluse:
a) avere durata non superiore a 30' compresi i titoli;
b) essere state completate dopo il 1 gennaio 2025;
c) non essere state già selezionate delle precedenti edizioni dei concorsi del Dorico International Film Fest;
d) non costituire filmati pubblicitari o industriali.

Al momento dell’iscrizione, dovranno essere indicati il nome della Scuola che ha realizzato il progetto ed il nome di almeno uno dei docenti e/o tutor di riferimento.

3C) CONCORSO shorTEEN YOUNG FILMMAKERS - CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE CORTOMETRAGGI REALIZZATI DA GIOVANI REGISTI (13-18 ANNI)

Condizioni per la partecipazione:
1) Ogni autore potrà concorrere con un massimo di due opere.
2) Sono ammesse al concorso opere di qualsiasi genere e nazionalità, purché siano realizzati da ragazzi tra i 13 e i 18 anni in qualità di registi o co-registi;
3) Le opere ammesse al concorso dovranno possedere i seguenti requisiti per non risultare escluse:
a) avere durata non superiore a 30' compresi i titoli;
b) essere state completate dopo il 1 gennaio 2025;
c) non essere state già selezionate delle precedenti edizioni dei concorsi del Dorico International Film Fest;
d) non costituire filmati pubblicitari o industriali.

Al momento dell’iscrizione, dovrà essere indicata l’età del regista o co-regista del cortometraggio e compilato correttamente il campo della sua biografia, in modo da dimostrarne l’età.

4) CONCORSO DORICO VIRTUALE - CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE CORTOMETRAGGI VR 360

Condizioni per la partecipazione:
1) Ogni autore potrà concorrere con un massimo di due opere.
2) Sono ammesse al concorso opere di qualsiasi genere e nazionalità, purchè realizzati in formato VR 360.
3) Le opere ammesse al concorso dovranno possedere i seguenti requisiti per non risultare escluse:
a) avere durata non superiore a 30' compresi i titoli;
b) essere state completate dopo il 1 gennaio 2025;
c) non essere state già selezionate delle precedenti edizioni dei concorsi del Dorico International Film Fest;
d) non costituire filmati pubblicitari o industriali.

5) CONCORSO ADRIATIC AWARD - CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE CORTOMETRAGGI DALLA SLOVENIA

Condizioni per la partecipazione:
1) Ogni autore potrà concorrere con un massimo di due opere.
2) Sono ammesse al concorso opere di autori residenti o domiciliati in Slovenia (sloveni o stranieri), o anche cittadini sloveni residenti o domiciliati all’estero (anche con opere in lingua diversa dallo sloveno). Possono infine partecipare opere di cittadini non-sloveni, residenti o domiciliati altrove, purché le opere siano in lingua originale slovena, e/o il film risulti essere una produzione o co-produzione slovena.
3) Le opere ammesse al concorso dovranno possedere i seguenti requisiti per non risultare escluse:
a) vere durata non superiore a 30' compresi i titoli;
b) essere state completate dopo il 1 gennaio 2025;
c) non essere state già selezionate delle precedenti edizioni dei concorsi del Dorico International Film Fest;
d) non costituire filmati pubblicitari o industriali.

6) CONCORSO DORICO ALTROVE - CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE CORTOMETRAGGI DAL BRASILE

Condizioni per la partecipazione:
1) Ogni autore potrà concorrere con un massimo di due opere.
2) Sono ammesse al concorso opere di autori residenti o domiciliati in Brasile (brasiliani o stranieri), o anche cittadini brasiliani residenti o domiciliati all’estero (anche con opere in lingua diversa dal brasiliano-portoghese). Possono infine partecipare opere di cittadini non-braziliani, residenti o domiciliati altrove, purché le opere siano in lingua originale brasiliana-portoghese, e/o il film risulti essere una produzione o co-produzione brasiliana.
3) Le opere ammesse al concorso dovranno possedere i seguenti requisiti per non risultare escluse:
a) avere durata non superiore a 30' compresi i titoli;
b) essere state completate dopo il 1 gennaio 2025;
c) non essere state già selezionate delle precedenti edizioni dei concorsi del Dorico International Film Fest;
d) non costituire filmati pubblicitari o industriali.

DISPOSIZIONI VALIDE PER TUTTI I CONCORSI:

La quota di iscrizione permette l’invio fino a 2 (due) film cortometraggio e non varia qualora si decida di inviare un solo lavoro.

Qualora ad inviare il/i film sia un produttore e/o distributore, questi sarà tenuto a versare tante quote quante sono le opere iscritte, qualora siano ciascuna di registi differenti. Nel caso il produttore e/o distributore iscrivesse più lavori dello stesso regista (rispettando il limite massimo di due opere per ogni singolo autore) potrà avvalersi del versamento di una sola quota per coppia di film.

Per iscrivere gratuitamente la seconda opera del medesimo regista, sarà necessario iscrivere la prima opera tramite la piattaforma FilmFreeway e poi contattare l’indirizzo submissions@cortodorico.it per richiedere una fee waiver per la seconda opera. In nessun caso tale procedemento potrà essere svolto in automatico dalla piattaforma FilmFreeway. Le quote per cui non saranno stati richiesti codici fee waiver via mail, nella modalità specificate nel presente regolamento, non verranno rimborsate.

All’atto dell’iscrizione è richiesta la compilazione di tutti i campi previsti nella scheda (dati anagrafici, contatti, bio, sinossi, foto film, foto regista).

I film iscritti nel Concorso Nazionale Cortometraggi CORTO DORICO in lingua diversa dall'italiano necessitano sempre di sottotitolazione in lingua italiana.

I film iscritti nei Concorsi Internazionali SHORT ON RIGHTS, SHORTEEN, DORICO VIRTUALE, ADRIATIC AWARD, DORICO ALTROVE dovranno sempre avere disponibili anche i sottotitoli in lingua inglese o in lungua italiana.

Formati accettati: mp4 / Quicktime Apple ProRes HQ / H264.

Non saranno prese in considerazione opere pervenute incomplete o illeggibili.

Il firmatario dell’iscrizione dichiara di essere titolare di tutti i diritti di utilizzazione dell’opera e di ogni suo componente; assicura che i contenuti della stessa sono nella sua disponibilità e non violano le leggi o i regolamenti vigenti o i diritti dei terzi e in particolare il diritto d’autore, il diritto all’immagine, i segni distintivi e i brevetti per invenzioni industriali; assicura e dichiara, inoltre, che l’opera non presenta contenuti a carattere diffamatorio. In ogni caso il partecipante manleva l’organizzazione da tutte le perdite, danni, responsabilità, costi, oneri e spese di qualsivoglia natura che dovessero essere sostenute a causa del contenuto dell’opera e della sua proiezione in pubblico.

Le opere iscritte non verranno restituite e costituiranno parte del patrimonio dell’archivio dell’Organizzazione del Festival. Esse potranno essere mostrate per scopi culturali e didattici senza fini di lucro. L’Organizzazione si riserva il diritto di utilizzare il materiale pervenuto per eventuali successive manifestazioni con l’obbligo di citare la fonte ed informarne preventivamente gli autori o i detentori dei diritti.

Il pagamento dei premi in denaro avverrà entro i 120 giorni dalla conclusione della manifestazione.
