Dominic Giovanni Sauve (born October 1, 2002) is an American filmmaker, director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, editor, and producer. He is known for his coverage of high school sports in southeastern Wisconsin. Sauve is currently enrolled at The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Peck School of the Arts. He is a film student in the Film, Video, Animation and New Genres Department. In High School, Sauve founded "DomSauveMedia" a self-titled film production company. Basketball and Football were his main focus until he got to college. In his first two academic years he decided to take a break from creating films, so he could learn the history and art of Cinema. In his own words: "I never really actually knew what I was doing when filming things. I would procrastinate and release rushed work that didn't represent who I was as a filmmaker, or even a person. I knew if I wanted to be successful in this industry, I had to level the playing field and learn just as much knowledge of the space as my peers had. That's why I had to put my filmmaking career on hold while I gained all the information about film that I could." Once enrolled at UW-Milwaukee, Sauve became a Videographer for the Men's Basketball team which opened the door to a spot on the Milwaukee Athletics Media Team. While in college, Sauve shifted his focus from Sports Videography, To Narrative and Documentary filmmaking. In 2017, Sauve partnered with sports media brands: Midwest Ballers and Movement Hoops as a videographer. This is where he traveled around the state of Wisconsin and went from High-School to High-School filming the top athletes from the state. Notable athletes he's filmed before the fame are Patrick Baldwin Jr (Washington Wizards, NBA), Jalen Johnson (Atlanta Hawks, NBA) Julius Davis (Montana State Bobcats, NCAA). It wasn't until 2023 when Sauve released his directorial debut short film "Home: The Life of Dominic Sauve". The Films world premiere was at the Nō Studios Filmmaker Showcase on March 6th, 2024 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sauve's career goal is to win an Oscar for Best Director and Best Picture.
