CELEBRATING THE ART OF DOCUMENTARY STORYTELLING

Welcome to the DocuVision International Film Festival (DVIFF), dedicated to documentary and docu-drama filmmaking from around the world. DVIFF is brought to you by the team behind the WRPN.tv Entertainment Network, which includes WRPN Women's International Film Festival, Nature Without Borders International Film Festival, Religion & Faith International Film Festival, and other acclaimed festivals in our network.

WHAT MAKES DVIFF UNIQUE

Documentary-Focused Programming: DVIFF proudly stands as one of the few festivals with dedicated categories for both documentaries and docu-dramas. We celebrate the full spectrum of non-fiction storytelling, from traditional documentaries to narrative-driven docu-dramas that blend factual content with dramatic interpretation.

Distinct Documentary Categories: Environmental, Human Spirit, Social Issues, Wildlife, Docu-drama Shorts, Docu-drama Features, and many more specialized categories designed to honor diverse documentary voices.

Beyond Live Screenings: While many festivals end with a single screening, DVIFF empowers filmmakers with opportunities for worldwide distribution through our established industry partners, ensuring your work reaches audiences far beyond the festival circuit.

SCREENPLAY COMPETITION

DVIFF invites submissions for written works across all genres:
• Feature-Length Screenplays
• Short Screenplays
• Teleplays

Rhodium Award winners receive exclusive submission access to Polaris Pictures, a respected film finance company that does not accept unsolicited material.

Note: Polaris Pictures operates independently. DVIFF facilitates introductions for top winners but does not control their decisions.

DISTRIBUTION PATHWAYS

Best of Festival winners receive guaranteed distributor review by our exclusive partners:
• Worldwide Motion Pictures Corporation (WWMPC.COM) — Features
• Adler & Associates — Features and shorts
• Cardinal XD — Features and shorts
• CCS Releasing — Features and shorts

We don't just hope distributors notice your work—we guarantee they review it. While other festivals invite distributors and cross their fingers, DVIFF delivers your film directly to industry professionals who are actively seeking content.

THE FEEDBACK COMMITMENT

DVIFF believes in transparency and filmmaker development.

For Films: If your documentary is not selected, you'll receive detailed feedback explaining why, plus the opportunity to resubmit for the next competition completely free after addressing the outlined issues.

For Screenplays & Novels: Rejected submissions receive specific feedback on what needs improvement, with free resubmission available within 30 days of the final deadline or for the following season.

This level of support and second-chance opportunity is rare in the festival world—we invest in your growth as a storyteller.

INDEPENDENT EVALUATION SYSTEM

DVIFF employs a merit-based judging system where each entry is evaluated on its own unique qualities rather than compared against other submissions. Judges focus entirely on your work when it's under review, scoring according to performance criteria that assess artistic and technical achievement independently.

RULES AND TERMS

Submission Requirements

Language: Non-English submissions must include subtitles or dubbing.

Authorization: The individual or corporation submitting warrants they are authorized to commit the film for screening and accept all festival requirements and regulations.

Entry Acceptance: The festival reserves the right to refuse entries without providing waivers.

Promotional Rights

By submitting, you grant DVIFF rights to use excerpts from accepted competition films for promotional purposes. Clips from winning entries may be streamed on DVIFF.COM and WRPN.TV.

Category Submission Guidelines

Distinct Documentary Categories: DVIFF celebrates diverse documentary storytelling, including Environmental, Human Spirit, Social Issues, Wildlife, Docu-drama Shorts, Docu-drama Features, and many more specialized categories.

Official Selection Listing: Your film appears on the Official Selection list only when submitted to a main (full-price) category. Films entered solely into reduced-rate production value subcategories will not be publicly listed.

Subcategory Judging: Entry into subcategories does not guarantee selection or award. Films submitted exclusively to subcategories (without a major category entry) risk rejection if judges find the specific subcategory submission lacking merit, regardless of overall film quality. Judges may also award subcategory honors you didn't enter if they identify exceptional technical achievement.

Subcategory Limitation: Winning an award in a subcategory does not qualify a film for live screening or distributor submission.

Award Allocation: The number of awards granted at each level varies based on the total number of entries received by the competition deadline.

Independent Evaluation Method

At DVIFF, we have implemented a clear system to prevent entries from competing against each other, ensuring that each film is evaluated based solely on its merits. Every submission is assessed on its unique qualities, allowing judges to concentrate fully on your work without the distraction of comparing it to others.

Each entry is scored according to an inherent value system. When it is your turn to be evaluated, the judge's focus is on your film rather than on all the other films in queue, which ensures they are thinking about you—not making comparisons.

Award Distribution:
• Best of Festival & Best of Show: Top-scoring entries per season
• Awards of Excellence levels: Exceptional artistic and technical achievement
• Awards of Merit & Kudos: Notable achievements
• No Award: Some entries may not reach award threshold

Live Screening Protocol

Best of Festival winners only are screened theatrically. These events capture authentic audience reactions for distributor consideration—not networking opportunities. DVIFF does not conduct after-screening parties or seminars. Audience video interviews may be conducted and featured on WRPN.tv.

Technical Requirements: Winners must provide screening-quality files (DCP preferred) and submit all required materials by the deadline of February 15, 2026.

Screening Cancellation Rights:
• Please note that audience attendance is variable and beyond our direct control, despite promotional efforts from both the venue and our festival. In cases where a screening does not attract attendees, we reserve the right to cancel that particular showing.
• If a Best of Festival winner chooses not to screen live, fails to send required materials, or doesn't respond to requests, we reserve the right to cancel the live screening. However, the award winner will retain their award.

The festival reserves the right to modify program dates and times.

Refund Policy

• Before Official Selection: Full refund upon withdrawal
• After Official Selection: No refunds issued

Professional Judging

All judges (selection through awarding phases) are compensated professionals. We do not use unpaid volunteers.

Subscribe to the WRPN.tv mailing list to ensure receipt of award notifications and exclusive discounts. We are not responsible for missed opportunities due to unread or undelivered emails.

Indemnification

Submitters must indemnify and hold harmless the Docuvision International Film Festival, WRPN.TV, and ROMAN PICTURES from all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including attorney's fees and court costs) arising from copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, or loss/damage to submitted materials.
