DOCUDONNA - 6th EDITION
International Documentary Festival for Female Filmmakers
Massa Marittima 26.27 October 2024
2. ORGANIZERS
The international festival of documentaries by women authors DocuDonna is organized by the cultural association Gremigna based in Massa Marittima, in the province of Grosseto, Tuscany. The festival is organized in partnership with the Municipality of Massa Marittima.
2. OBJECTIVES
The idea of a documentary festival dedicated to women filmmakers stems from the desire to "pay attention" not only to their diverse film productions but also from the desire to create a moment of reflection on the colourful inner gaze of women. The festival as an opportunity to promote an innovative dialogue between the genres. In recent years, even the most important international film festivals are devoting due attention to documentaries as they allow you to explore expressive territories free and unencumbered by the strict codes of cinematic canons. DocuDonna introduces a new appointment dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of the documentary made by women into the calendar of Italian and international festivals. A heritage of images, sensibilities and points of view, disseminated into a cultural industry dominated by men. DocuDonna aims to call attention to a cutting-edge genre of film production: the documentary as an original and innovative language often underground and little known.
