Born & raised in Paris, Dimitri completed his early studies there. After that, encouraged by his Serbian Croatian family roots, he mastered 3 other languages. Focused on film, he travelled east where he studied at the Higher Institute of Scriptwriters and Film Directors in Moscow, Russia. (BKCR) in the Masterclass of Vladimir Khotinienko, Pavel Finn and Vladimir Fenshenko. He then spent two years in America studying with Lee Strasberg School of Acting and the Actors Studio in Los Angeles. Back in Belgrade, Dimitri spent time in the theatre and radio where he worked with various theatre groups such as directing the play "Dali vs. Picasso" at the Bitef Theatre as a Member of the surrealist Panic Movement (Mouvement panique) founded by Spanish writer Fernando Arrabal and co-founders Roland Topor, Alejandro Jodorowski and recently during the Covid crisis "Petals of Imprisonment" at the Center for Cultural Decontamination in Belgrade also written by Fernando Arrabal. His other theatrical works include "True West" by Sam Shepard a coproduction with the Serbian National Theatre and the Academy of Arts in Osijek, Croatia where he also worked as an Artistic Associate. In radio, Dimitri directed "Voyager 2019", "Hitchhikers", "Barking Dog", "Ljuba Popovic - Master, Ascetic, Painter", The Return", "The Immortal - Vladimir Velickovic" for Radio Belgrade. In film, Dimitri has won many international awards for his documentary, "Aral Death of a Sea". Other films directed, written and photographed include, " Je t'aime", "Reminiscencia" and "Home." He just finished a documentary film called "Heartbeat". Two feature films in development at the current time are "Olga's Son" and "Barking Dog". As an assistant Director, Dimitri worked on the documentary with the star Gérard Depardieu in "My Uzbek Dream" shot in Uzbekistan and in 2007 "The Wall Of Memories" with Director Vlada Petric. He has assisted Directors Rie Rasmussen on "Human Zoo" in Serbia back in 2007. In 2003, in Moscow, he assisted Director Andrei Konchalovsky on the feature "Mad House".Assisted & DP to Ali Khamraev for the documentaries "Salim" & "The Painter". At the present time, Dimitri lives in both his apartment in Paris & his home in Belgrade, Serbia. With his American partners, casting and scheduling is being worked on for the feature film "Olga's Son" to be directed by Dimitri.
