Dianna Vasileiou is a journalist and an actress based in Athens, Greece. She studied Acting at "Embros" Drama School, with teachers such as the directors Giannis Moschos, Thomas Moschopoulos and Hector Lygizos in Cinema. She later studied Theatre and Performance Practice at the London Metropolitan University and, upon returning to Athens, completed her studies in Mass Media.
Cinema has always been of great interest to her and a big part of her life. Writing (also) about cinema and TV series in magazines such as VICE GREECE, Athens Voice and Estella, and working in research and production for the documentary series “Special Report” with Tasos Telloglou (ANT1 TV) and for the upcoming feature-length documentary “What We Are Made Of” by Siamak Etemadi, her desire to be behind the camera grew even stronger.
She has attended a 6-month directing seminar with director Michalis Konstantatos at the Small Polytechnic, and recently took directing classes with emphasis on Documentary, at the Municipality of Athens with director Ilia Fragakis, as well as a one-year screenwriting course with screenwriter and director Zacharias Mavroeidis.
The documentary “twenty-seven hours”, following Adnan Rafique, a taxi driver in Athens originally from Pakistan, is her first film. Meanwhile, she is currently the editor-in-chief of the online magazine Estella and wishes to continue making movies.
