The Penang International Film Festival (PIFF) is a prestigious event held in the vibrant Northern Region of Malaysia—Penang, also known as the Pearl of the Orient. The festival is proudly supported and endorsed by the Filming Association of Penang.

The 1st PIFF will be a hybrid event, combining both online and in-person experiences. Official selections will be announced on online platforms, while only a select number of films will be screened at a physical venue. Additionally, a networking session—exclusively for local producers, distributors, artists, and invited guests—will be organized as part of the festival.

Only those who qualify for the Official Selection will be notified. Films selected will be eligible for the Jury Special Awards. However, if an official selection does not receive a nomination for the Jury Special Awards, it means the journey ends at the selection stage.
