Dhika Rizki Sandy is a director, producer and scriptwriter from Indonesia who was born in Padang, West Sumatra. Dhika grew up in Padang currently studied at the Jakarta Institute of Arts with majoring in film directing.
Dhika spent his adult life in Jakarta while studying film and forming a community with his friends called Ethics Films. Ethics Films focused on film Production and also film screening and exhibitions. After that, Dhika worked as a part-time photographer and wrote articles and short films which he worked on when he had free time during the study process before finally joining the film industry in 2022.
Sometime after he saw the film Catch Me If You Can, a 2002 American biographical crime drama film directed by Steven Spielberg in 1977, that's when he first became interested in making a film. He was even desperate to leave school just to make a documentary with his friends. Coupled with reading the book Film Directing, shot by shot by Steven d. Katz, steeled his will even more. So he and two of his friends wrote a script about a ten-minute fisherman documentary, which he titled ELO PUKEK in 2017. Dhika Rizki started to become a director in 2019, his first film was titled A GIFT (2019). Other films that did not escape his hands were LANITA (2020) and RASA (2021).
