The Des Moines Latino Film Festival (DMLFF), established in 2021, is presented annually by the Latino Center of Iowa (LCI). LCI is a nonprofit organization that promotes cultural awareness, develops leadership skills, and foster connections with the Latino community in central Iowa. The DMLFF supports and celebrates the rich cultural diversity in Iowa by featuring films from Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and the United States. DMLFF is made possible through a partnership with the Chicago Latino Film Festival. The 2024 festival will be held from April 16 – 20 in the Greater Des Moines area.

DMLFF is non-competitive. However, an Audience Choice Award will be given for one feature film and one short film.

Any fiction film, documentary, experimental, or animation in any genre will be considered that meets at least one of the following criteria:
• Made by Latino filmmakers
• Subject matter directly related to Latino culture

Features and shorts will be accepted. Limited to one film submission per filmmaker.

We make efforts to provide an accessible festival to our community and the filmmakers. Thanks to our generous sponsors and partners, we do not charge attendees to see the films. There is a $25 fee for submitting your film for consideration. This fee helps offset festival expenses.

The 4th DMLFF will be hosted in person.
