The first annual Delta Silver Screen Film Fest is part of the Delta Arts Festival, a 13 year multi-disciplinary arts festival that includes the Delta Visual Arts Shows (200 visual artists), the Delta Festival of Books (25 authors), the Delta Musicians Showcase (70 musicians in 31 concert performances), and the Delta Silver Screen Film Fest (up to 10 filmmakers). In past years, we have had over 3,500 people attend the event in addition to the artists, authors, and musicians. The Delta Arts Festival will held June 4th and 5th in 2021.
We will accept a wide variety of films, however, we will focus on Arkansas filmmakers and filmmakers from the Delta.
The entire festival is held in downtown Newport, Arkansas at 12 different venues, including film screenings at the renovated Jane Parnell Performance Hall (a new 75 to 100 seat screening/concert venue). We will accept up to 10 films depending on length. We do not pay a screening fee. Filmmakers are welcome to volunteer for a Q&A session with the audience and sell merchandise related to the film at the Festival.
We will have a "People's Choice" award for the favorite short film and the favorite feature length film screened during the festival.
We also hope to have a free two-hour filmmaking workshop as part of the event.
