Delhi International Film Festival, now in its 6th year, is an event organised in New Delhi, by The Social Circle – A Society for Cause and Inclusiveness. Established in 2012, to commemorate the 100 glorious years of Indian Cinema and Delhi, DIFF has been bringing cinema from all over the world to Delhi, with support from New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) as venue partner and Information and Broadcasting Ministry.

Our advisory board is headed by “Dada Saheb Phalke” awardee, Sri Adoor Gopal Krishnan and some of the greats of Indian Cinema like Subhash Ghai, Shatrughan Sinha, Sharmila Tagore, Mani Rathnam, Ketan Mehta, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Anurag Kashyap, Anooj Kapoor, Mohan Agashe, Manoj Bajpai, Mandira Bedi, Shriram Raghwan, Jimmi Shergil, N. Chandra, Sandeep Marwah, Shailesh Loadha, Yashpal Sharma and Arvind Gaur. Jury members from all over the world, are accomplished film makers, film festival directors, critics, actors, writers, artists etc.

DIFF screens close to 250 films, displays 250 selected art works and 50 literary works by NRI and Indian poets, bringing together high profile national and international film makers, producers, distributors, artists and litterateurs under one roof.

Government of New Delhi (in 2015), Uttar Pradesh – Film Bandhu, Uttarakhand, Assam and their Film Development Boards, have been our associates to organise the festival. Our Festival also associates itself with esteemed corporate partners like Pioneer and Graphis Ads.

DIFF has collaborated with film festivals in Morocco, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Jordan, Oman, Egypt and Muscat and organises Indian Programs at film festivals in these countries. This year, for the first time ever, Information & Broadcasting Ministry is collaborating with DIFF to organise an Indian Program at Morocco.


Awards are given in more than 30 categories and 8 of the films awarded at DIFF have gone on to win National Awards the same years. 4 of the films in world cinema which won awards at DIFF were selected as official entries for Oscars from their respective countries. Rules & Terms

-Please download the full form as it contains all the “Rules and Regulations” and other details, read them carefully before registering.
-Film Producers, Distributors their duly authorised representatives or duly authorised Government organization / agency of the participating countries may enter their films for the Competition/World Premier in the enclosed Entry Form.

1. For programming consideration, the Festival accepts full HD-DVDs only and without watermark. The Festival will not consider trailers or promos for selection purposes.
2. The DVDs must be properly labelled with the Film Title, Director’s name and contacts, Year of production, Duration, format and subtitling if any and without any watermarks.
3. For submissions coming from outside India, the packages must be marked, “For Festival & Cultural Purpose only, No Commercial value”.
4. Submission form, pictures, synopsis and CV to be sent as hardcopy along with the DVD of the film and a softcopy via e-mail as well. (BEFORE 30TH SEPT. 2017 ).
5. DVDs must be formatted in PAL “0” Region. Please test computer-burned DVDs on several makes and models of players before sending. The submission materials will not be returned to the senders these include DVD for screening and other display material.
To be eligible for consideration, all films must meet the following requirements:
1. Be in their original language with English subtitles, films without subtitles and synopsis will not be accepted.
2. All Decisions made in Selections, screenings, awards and on the Festival in entirety by the festival Appointed “Selection Committee” will be final.
3. In case of any disputes, the decision of the Festival President will be final.
4. Once selected for screening, the film shall not be withdrawn.
5. The last date of submissions of entries with screeners and all relevant documentation is 15th September, 2017.
6. Film makers of officially selected films shall be informed by 1st October, 2017.

-All submitted films will be watched and rated by an internal selection committee. This committee will select the films that will be screened at the festival. In a second step the selection committee of Jurors will determine Films running in competition.
Please note: A film selected for the festival does not run in competition automatically.


The DVD’s (two DVD’s) for selection (selection committee of 6th DIFF 2017) should be sent “freight pre-paid” i.e. at senders cost.
-Festival will not pay any charges other than the air-freight charges. It may also please be noted that the Festival cannot reimburse any freight or other charges in foreign currency, unless previously agreed to in writing.

The Festival will not bear freight or any other charges for unsolicited films, Videos, DVD sent to it, if these are not selected for screening in the Festival. The Festival shall not be responsible for any material that is diverted to some other city in India.

-Films will normally be screened in their original language/version. Films in language other than English must have subtitles in English.

-Films that arrive without subtitles, or with subtitles other than in English, where such subtitles are required, shall not be screened in the Festival.

-Entries under the all categories shall be of films certified by Information and Broadcasting Ministry or Central Board of Film Certification, India.
Deadline for submission: September 30th , 2017
If the film is selected the producers are responsible for providing the following materials:
(1) Press kit
(2) Trailer of the submitted film for advertising the festival (MUST)
(3) 3-5 Posters (Minimum A3 size) and flyers.


(1) Entry fees for more than 60 minutes in all categories: 3000/- INR or (47 USD)

(2) Entry fees for less than 60 minutes in all categories: 1500 /- INR or (24 USD)

(3) Entry fees for Students in all categories: 1000/-INR or (16 USD)

I ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY for the accuracy of the information supplied in all sections and I authorize the Festival to reproduce company contact information in its publications exactly as supplied.

-The festival reserves the right to excerpt programmed works up to 3 minutes for television and other Promotional purposes unless specified otherwise.

-Incomplete forms and submissions will be rejected.

-The film makers and their representatives undertake to use the official logo and the status of their Selection or Award strictly in confirmation with DIFF 2017 designs and they further undertake to use such festival logo in all their promotions, posters and marketing publications with the consent of the festival.

- That the DIFF reserves right for telecast of the film perpetual anywhere.
