I write for women. I write characters which can be played by any race. A long time ago, I was told "Any character can do anything, if given the right motivation." That's the driving force behind an idea. What will this character do?
Debra Montague lives in the Chicagoland-area but was born and raised in Iowa. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from a small Midwestern university. She continues to take screenwriting classes because there is so much to learn and lifelong learning is one of her mantras. She is drawn to, and writes, female-centric drama. Her characters are on a journey of self-discovery; finding out who they are. Her Midwest roots allow her to create pragmatic characters and her quirky sense of humor makes her continually ask “What if…” as she writes her stories. She winds down listening to jazz, doing crafts, or gardening. She is owned by three cats.
