I'm David Bentley. A multi-award winning screenwriter, playwright, and student at Salem State University majoring in English with a Theatre minor. I focus on creating psychologically intense, emotionally raw stories that blend horror, trauma, and character-driven drama.
My work includes Deception, a short play exploring guilt and manipulation, Cocoon, a horror short rooted in grief and body horror, and my award-winning short screenplay Don't Speak, a psychological thriller about generational abuse and supernatural resurrection. I like writing characters that feel real — flawed, scared, angry, desperate — and pushing them to their limits.
My scripts have been shared on Stage 32, Reddit, and submitted to multiple festivals. I write late at night, pull from real emotions, and I'm always trying to create something that leaves people thinking, feeling, or haunted.
I'm looking to network with directors, producers, and those who want something with depth, edge, and honesty. If you're into horror that isn't just about jump scares or drama that gets under your skin, let's talk.
