    Dareen Hasan Halimah. Born in Syria. An independent journalist, film director, and artist. She has the bachelor degree of mass media from Damascus University, she worked as a dancing teacher for seven years in a private school. in 2002 she starts learning filmmaking online. She moved to the Netherlands after the war in Syria and worked as a journalist and editor for a year and a half in RNW " radio Netherlands world wild. "She established her project (Nasawyia) early in 2014. As NGO organization online writing articles about women every day. She is the director of the documentary “Bread and Iron,” which has won two awards in Italy and the US, and was nominated for 5 awards. The film was financed by Dareen herself which shed light on the life of Syrian workers in Lebanon. Dareen got her first documentary training later in 2018 by social European documentary in Italy and Norway. She Supports many refugee artists by making free short films or music videos. Recently, Dareen has directed. Produced, and filmed another short film on domestic violence and it has received many accolades. She also writes films, edits all of the Nasawyia programs by herself. She works daily to publish articles, researches, videos, for the Nasawyia Facebook page and teaches new members about feminism. Helps and supports women through their struggle. she made over 100 educating live videos about women's issues. She selected to be one of the jury members for short competition in Rotterdam Arabic Camera film festival in 2019. .
