Daniel is a Peruvian filmmaker who premiered his debut feature, Hotel Paraíso (Paradise Hotel), as writer and director in 2019. The film was released in Peru and Ecuador and was selected for over 40 festivals worldwide, addressing themes of bullying and self-esteem. Daniel created an anti-bullying manual using images from the film to support explanations about the issue and how to address it.
His film No te mueras por mí (To Die For) premiered in Peru and Colombia in early 2025, shedding light on violence against women. Alongside its release, he launched pormi.pe, a website that provides guidance and support for reporting and confronting cases of violence. He is also developing his third feature film, El Atrapanieblas (The Fog Catcher), inspired by Abel Cruz’s visionary efforts to fight water scarcity and climate change in marginalized communities.
