Daniel Lawrence Abrams founded Corpania Productions based on his stage play of the same name that ran at the famed Stella Adler Theatre in Los Angeles. He wrote the pilot presentation, "The R.A.s," which starred Jenna Fischer (before she starred in "The Office" on NBC). It played at the Powerhouse Theater and the HBO/Warner Brothers Television Workspace.
He wrote "Currently Adopted," which won 1st Place in Indi.com's Comedy contest (a top-viewed video).
Five of Abrams' most recent screenplays (including those co-written with Zoe Quist or Grant Taylor) combined have earned 30+ awards/accolades/laurels in screenwriting competitions (out of 74 submissions, thus earning a "batting average" better than .400). These include three 1st Place Wins, one Grand Jury Prize, three Top-5s, two from the prestigious Austin Film Festival, placing in the Top-4% of Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope Screenplay Contest, and winning a spot on Coverfly's acclaimed Red List as a Top-20 script of all time in its category.
Quist & Abrams co-created the animated Sci-Fi/Comedy series pilot "Awoken:2070," optioned by Crazy Legs Productions. Deep Sky Studios' animation team was hired to do the artistic characters' design and visual environments.
• Abrams is the Co-executive Producer of ON WINGS OF EAGLES starring Joseph Fiennes.
• Abrams was on the producing team of Director Zoe Quist’s previous feature films RAW CUT and MINING FOR RUBY. He also produced her sizzle/trailer “Stretched”.
• Member of the Producers Guild of America for over 15 years and was elected to a 3-year term on the AP Council. Also produced & moderated several seminars for the PGA. Occasional columnist for the PGA’s “Produced By” magazine as well as its website.
• Abrams’ short film, THE KNEW-IT-ALL, played in three film festivals including The Big Apple Film Festival (held at the Tribeca Cinemas in NYC).
• His short film, CURRENTLY ADOPTED, played in 3 other film festivals and won the INDI.com Comedy Competition (and currently has over 108,000 views).
• Produced and wrote pilot presentations at the HBO/Warner Bros. TV Workspace, The Powerhouse Theater, and the Stella Adler Theater.
• Executive Producer of the Bodog Entertainment / Riptown Media web
series about a punk rockstar’s wedding entitled “Bif Naked Bride” which was an Official Honoree in the 2008 Webby Awards.
• Produced hundreds of hours of television (non/fiction/Reality TV, game shows, talk shows, documentaries etc.). Was the Supervising Producer of the 2014 Emmy/Nominated SundanceTV show “The Writers’ Room” and is a freelance Producer/Director for “House Hunters International” on HGTV.
• Co/Produced the documentary PINK & BLUE: COLORS OF HEREDITARY CANCER about breast cancer affecting both men and women. Released theatrically in NY & LA.
