The Downtown Covington Film Festival will provide a warm and welcoming environment for filmmakers to screen their work and interact with the audience in one of Louisiana's most beautiful hotels.

Our goal is to spotlight unique stories and award filmmakers for their cinematic achievements.

All films will screen at the luxurious Southern Hotel in the heart of Downtown Covington, located just 45 minutes from New Orleans. The Southern Hotel’s vaunted history of hospitality began in 1907 as a physical and spiritual retreat where visitors could re-energize amidst the cool breeze, piney woods and mineral springs. Today visitors can enjoy Downtown Covington's Art Galleries, Boutiques, award winning Restaurants, Farmer's Market and Parks, as well as live music and night life all with in walking distance of the hotel.

The festival will screen shorts and features, including narratives, documentaries, and student films. There will be panel discussions as well as opportunities for filmmakers to interact with judges and the audience at several social events.

The selection process will be conducted by a panel of judges. The Southern Hotel is serving as the host of our festival and will play no role in the selection process.

Tenet Noctis was accepted to DTC and screened. I really enjoyed the DTC Film Festival. The creator of the festival, Jessy Cale Williams went out of his way to make us, the filmmakers, feel appreciated and welcomed.
The host facilty, The Southern Hotel, was amazing.

  • This is a little gem of a festival is tucked away in the quaint downtown area of Covington, Louisiana. Us locals refer to this area as the Northshore. Having been born on the Northshore, I was so chuffed that our film "Locked" was selected to screen at the festival. The folks who put on the fest were so hospitable and supportive of filmmakers. This was only the second year, of this fest, and I am looking forward to watching it grow in the coming years. Thanks y'all!

I loved attending the innagural DTC Short Film Festival and was blown away by the quality of the films and the suport of the local community. The venue, a local hotel was absolutely charming, the hospitality and communication excellent and the film fest director could not have been more accommodating. My doc, “Monster in the Bayou” opened the fest and I was stuck in traffic, running a little late. They waited 15 minutes, so that I could introduce the film. Also, have never before been greeted to a film fest being offered champagne and gourmet popcorn as I entered the screening room, very cool! Thank you for including me in this lovely fest; am looking forward to attending next year.
