Cumbria Film Festival is a student led film festival that aims to celebrate student work, while simultaneously uplifting the work of other emerging creators.

The event is organized and led by a combination of third year Wildlife Media and Film and TV students!

Officially in it's first year, Cumbria Film Festival is organized by Film & TV and Wildlife Media students from the University of Cumbria.

Cumbria Film Festival aims to celebrate individuals from every corner of Film. Submissions are open to filmmakers of every level and are not required to have worked within the film industry. Both hobbyists and industry professionals are welcome.

- Nominees will receive festival laurels.

- Winners will receive laurels and a certificate.

All submissions must be at 1080p HD minimum.

All submissions should provide credits of any third party material used including stock footage, audio, or music.

Submissions which feature dialogue outside of English should include English subtitles.

AI submissions are prohibited and films should only include original material.

Category Specific Rules:

Student short film
- Open to individuals currently within education.
- Max length of 15 minutes

Mobile shorts
- Open to films recorded on a mobile phone.
- Films must be both recorded and edited on a mobile device.
- Max length of 15 minutes.

Documentary
- Open to factual documentaries.
- Natural history documentaries may be submitted to the Wildlife and Environmental category or Wildlife Short Films category (see below).
- Max length of 20 minutes.

Super Shorts
- 'Super Shorts' are open to the submission of projects which span under 5 minutes.
- Max length of 5 minutes.

Music videos
- Open to projects with a heavy emphasis on music or submissions that recreate unique footage to pair with existing audio material.
- Max length of 5 minutes.

Wildlife and Environmental:
- Open to documentaries or creative pieces that emphasise the natural world.
- Max length of 20 minutes.
