Culture x Frames is an inclusive cultural project. It offers a cultural bridge that brings people together through a shared interest in film and art. It promotes openness, exchange and creativity regardless of origin, age or social background.
The aim is to bring together all kinds of people from a wide variety of social backgrounds at one event. This is to be achieved through free entry and a diversity of locations and films.
As special focus is on films which are made in an unusual way.
There will be 6 evenings throughout the year of 2026. First 3 Events will be spread in the months between march and May. Last 3 Events will be in October and November, but there will be another submission deadline.

Awards & Prizes

The aim of the film festival is to establish a film funding pot. This will be used to support no-budget films, thereby reducing the financial barriers to creativity and passion.
The goal for 2026 is to establish a funding pot of at least 1,000€.
Therefore, no prize money will be paid out.

Rules & Terms

Submissions:
- All film submissions should be made digitally, not via DVD’s in the post. If you are unable/unwilling to use digital submission, please contact us and we’ll work something out.
- Films may be submitted in any language. Non-English language produced films must have English subtitles.
- Minimum length is 5 minutes and maximum length is 60 minutes
- Please upload a digital screener to FilmFreeway
- Films will not be admitted containing glorification or endorsement of racist, misogynistic, homophobic or other related topics.

Rights:
- In order to submit a film, you must own the rights or have permission from the owner.
- All entrants certify that they have been given full rights to use any and all music in their films.
- Submitting your movie, you authorize “Culture & Frames” Filmfestival to use, distribute and share the film poster, trailer, synopsis and movie stills in our social media.
- With the submission the film makers give permission to save information about the film for internal purposes. We take the protection of your personal data seriously and will not pass it on to third parties.

- Filmmakers or screenwriters accepted and are attending the festival are responsible for travel, lodging, and all other expenses.
- It's the submitter's responsibility to ensure that the preview copy is in full working order and that passwords and links on the submission platform are functional, otherwise the film won't be properly considered.
