Brett Buescher is a filmmaker, editor, and storyteller whose work blends immersive, on-the-ground filmmaking with high-octane cinematic energy. Based in Colorado, Brett has spent years documenting the world of skateboarding, action sports, and the culture of risk-takers who push beyond their limits. His approach is deeply personal, weaving together themes of family, loss, and resilience with the rebellious spirit of underground skate culture.
Brett’s first feature documentary, Driven by Angels, follows Vaughn Shafer—a 62-year-old pioneer of motorized skateboarding. Shafer confronts ghosts of his past while attempting to break his own world records from the 90's. The project also carries the emotional weight of Brett’s own journey, including the loss of his father, Louis “King Louie” Buescher, whose legacy shaped both the film’s heart and its title.
As the founder of Street Kingpins, one of the largest skateboarding media platforms on Instagram, Brett has built a community of nearly 100,000 followers while producing original films, contests, and cultural collaborations. His work is fueled by the belief that adrenaline is more than a thrill—it’s a lifeline that connects generations, preserves memories, and inspires new stories.
Whether behind the camera, in the editing bay, or shaping a story from the ground up, Brett aims to create films that feel alive: bold, unfiltered, and emotionally raw.
