POSTPONED to the FALL 2020-(MOVED TO NOVEMBER 2020)(APOLOGIES for the delay we are restructuring the festival to be completely virtual. We have one more change for the date but it's the last one)- A festival of Trailers, Teasers, Sizzle Reels and Shorts. Current Industry judges evaluate and winners are selected. This is a huge networking event known to provide a strong New York presence for your work. Past participants have had projects pitched to HBO, BET and the Own Network. Other participants have acquired additional funding for the completion of a full feature of their project. Streaming Video On-Demand deals are common among winners. The atmosphere is bright and infused with fascinating personalities from the NY media scene. We diversify to amplify. That's the message we spread to producers, networks and studios. You never know who you might meet. Vendors, Wine Bars, Snacks and music. Step and Repeat Photo Ops. Auctions, door prizes and much more.
Awards for the projects are based on the merit of the story it is heralding by way of the trailer, teaser, sizzle or short and how creatively it is constructed and filmed.
Trailblazer Award is the Grand Prize for the most outstanding trailer, teaser, sizzle or short. Official Crystal Ship Trophy and a Distribution Deal to be determined.
Second Prize is the Visionary Award. Winner will receive special nom on social media and an official Crystal Ship Plaque.
Third prize will be The Best Elevator Pitch Award. This will be an award for the filmmaker who has a combination of delivering the best 5 (five) minute elevator pitch (in person) to select V.I.P.s with their submitted content. Winner will receive a Certificate of Merit.
Fourth Prize will be an Honorable Mention Certificate.
Fifth Prize will be determined by our V.I.P Attendees
Entries are eligible for more than one prize.
Specialty categories will be added at event and additional awards determined by sponsors' contributions for professional development. More opportunities to win if present at venue.
Finalists will be notified and given 2 complimentary General Admission Tickets.
Trailers, Teasers, Sizzle Reels or Shorts must run from 90 (ninety) seconds and not to exceed 20 minutes and can be a part of a longer work, but no more than the first 20 min will be considered. All film submissions must provide a Private Vimeo link. We are NOT accepting DVD submissions.
Film submissions should be uploaded by the stated deadlines and be accompanied by the corresponding fee.
We accept both domestic and international shorts from every genre and budget.
Films musts be in English or include English Subtitles
New films must have been completed after January 1, 2018. Previously submitted films from prior Crystal Ship Mini Indie Film Festivals will be accepted as a new entry with the corresponding entry fee.
Films must not have been released theatrically or on television in the U.S. prior to the festival. If the film has screened online, the filmmaker is required to include this information in the film’s submission materials.
We do not accept replacement copies of a film. The only way we can accept a new revised version of your film is if you re-submit it using a new entry form and pay the corresponding entry fee.
You can submit as many films as you wish as long as each is accompanied by its respective entry form and fee.
If you don’t live in the United States, you can also pay the submission fee with a money order in U.S. dollars payable to: Crystal Ship Filmmaker, 1350 Avenue of the Americas, Suite 336, New York, New York 10019.
The Festival does not send email confirmations for projects submitted through www.filmfreeway.com. FilmFreeway handles all email confirmations processed through their site. You can verify the status of your submission by checking their website.
Finalists will be announced May 31, 2019.
Winners will be awarded at the festival on June 2018 in New York City, location : Symphony Space, 95th & Broadway, New York City from 3pm - 6pm.
