Crichton is a director whose latest work is her short film Close at a Distance. Her work has been written up in the New York Times and the New Yorker.
She produced and starred in the feature length film Xmas in July which premiered at the Bowery Film Festival and wrote the theme music for Man from Reno which was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. Crichton worked in the costume department for Leave Not One Alive starring Melissa Leo. She was a writer and actor in the Exquisite Corpse Project which showed at Anthology Film Archive.
Along with her short film, Crichton has directed music videos, video art, performance, and theater. Her video Buku Love was written up in Atwood Magazine which called it “dazzling and hypnotic”. She has worked on theater shows at the Under the Radar Festival at the Public Theatre and directed shows at HERE and the Paradise Factory in Manhattan. Her artwork has been exhibited at MoMA, the New Museum, and the AC Institute. She has performed at the Whitney, the New Museum, and as part of Performa.
Crichton played a chorus member in Matthew Barney’s film River of Fundament.
