Rules and Eligibility for Creators Film Festival:

Submission Guidelines:

1. All submissions must be made through FilmFreeway.
2. Submissions must be accompanied by the applicable submission fee per entry.
3. Each submission must include a completed Creators Film Festival online entry form.
4. Films must be uploaded via Vimeo or Youtube without password protection.
5. Along with the film, submissions must include a downloadable Movie Poster, Photos, and Synopsis.
6. Submissions must be in English or have English subtitles at the time of submission.

Eligibility:

1. Films and series with US distribution (obtained prior to being selected for Creators Film Festival screening) or submissions produced, financed, or initiated by a major film studio or television network are ineligible for competition. However, they may be considered for a special screening.
2. Films that have aired on US networks or cable television or been distributed to theaters prior to the festival dates are also ineligible for competition.
3. Digital series must consist of the first one to three episodes of the series’ first season. Only new series will be considered.
4. Private invite-only screenings (e.g., for cast and crew or donors) do not affect a submission’s eligibility.
5. Creators Film Festival reserves the right to reject or disqualify any ineligible entries, without a refund.

Originality and Permissions:

1. Submissions must be the original work of the applicants. If based on another person’s life, a book, or other underlying work, necessary rights for adaptations must be secured.
2. Applicants are responsible for obtaining all necessary rights and permissions for third-party materials included in their films.
3. There is no premiere policy for submissions.
4. The judgment of the jurors is final.

Additional Information:

1. Once an entry payment has been received, refunds will not be provided.
2. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit only after their film or series is fully finished.
3. All entrants must include their physical address in their entry.
4. By submitting work, entrants give permission for it to be showcased at the festival and used for promotional purposes.
5. Selected films will be requested to provide all promotional material for the festival screening.

Selected Entries and Winners:

1. The Festival has no obligation to disclose information about screeners or judges.
2. Creators Film Festival disclaims liability for any comments or opinions expressed about a submission.
3. Winners will be announced at the Award show and must be present to accept their prizes.
4. Winners receiving cash prizes are responsible for payment of all applicable taxes.
