Craig Clifford and Mallory Young are a screenwriting couple based in Texas. They have only recently entered into screenwriting after having previously spent decades studying and writing about music, literature, and movies. They live in the town of Stephenville, referred to as the "cowboy capital of the world," an experience they drew on in writing their first feature-length screenplay, Border Crossings.
Craig Clifford is also a prolific songwriter, focusing on the Americana genre in the vein of the great Texas singer-songwriters like Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark. The direct inspiration for Border Crossings came from his "Bull Rider’s Trilogy," a series of three songs focused on a Texas bull rider who has a deep but star-crossed relationship with a girl from Mexico.
