Born in the US and raised in rural Japan, Corey Fuller is a film director, cinematographer/photographer, musician and multimedia artist currently based in Toky whose multicultural upbringing gives him a unique insight into Japanese culture. Fuller’s output is synergistic and borderless, synesthetically merging a myriad of disciplines through music, film, photography and installation art, with contemporary dance, fashion, calligraphy, poetry, architecture and design. As a commercial film director, Fuller has worked with distinguished brands such as Gucci, Nike, Google, Shiseido, Ikea, Nikon and Sony in helping craft stories through picture and sound. Working concurrently as a composer, his solo musical works suspend and contort time and space, and explore themes of silence, dislocation and fragmentation. In addition to his solo work, Fuller finds his collaborations with other artists invaluable. Known for his work as ILLUHA and OHIO on the NY label 12k, he has collaborated with musicians Ryuichi Sakamoto, Taylor Deupree, Richard Skelton and Stephan Mathieu among others on a series of projects and releases and continues to expand his fields of collaboration.
