Colorado WebFest is coming! Our mission is to showcase the best audio fiction and collaborative storytelling in the world, providing a platform for your project to potentially be heard by those seeking quality entertainment!

Colorado WebFest will take place the 13th of June of 2026 and prizes will be awarded (Location TBA see below) Note the is is the Night before https://audiofictioncon.com/ in Boulder and we are discussing benefits of attending both currently!

If we reach our submission goal this festival will have an in person screening and mixers to meet fellow producers of the best audio entertainment!

Note: attendance does not effect your judging.

In our juried competition, your project will compete for trophies, and Direct Selections into other partner webfests of the Audio Fiction World Cup.

In February 2026 we will be launching the "Fiction Five" Podcast where a panel of our peers review and showcase submissions that will be included in the Colorado Webfest that year with recorded notes from the creator. This is a great way to expand the reach and bring awareness to your work. Get in early to secure a spot as late submissions run the risk of being showcased after the festival. Again it doesn't effect your judgment we just will plan to celebrate your work throughout the year.

Our true mission at the Colorado WebFest is create an enviroment where creatives can meet each other and form bonds, leading to collaboration and even more great projects year after year.

Currently you can submit your Audio Fiction, Actual Play Audio or Actual Play Video.
(No other video formats or nonfiction podcasts at this time please.)

Please note you CANNOT submit the same project for multiple categories. Please choose the one where you believe you have the strongest presentation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
My Audio doesn't fit any of your Categories
Any Fictional Audio Storytelling format is likely acceptable to the festival. Choose the most appropriate selection on signup. We are not accepting Nonfiction projects. If there are questions please email info@Coloradowebfest.com before submitting.

Can I submit offensive material?
As the term "offensive" is largely subjective, the short answer is THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. If our team believes your project doesn't fit a showcase of the best quality audio or collaborative storytelling that we are proud to share out there; your project will not make the showcase.

Again. We want to stand for quality.

What is the minimum age to participate?
Due to the broad range of potential topics, the event requires a minimum age of 18 to participate.

Why is there a submission fee?
The submission fee is crucial for us to be able to guarantee the event year after year. It is worth mentioning that the fee helps us screen and judge your content. The time it takes to run the processes required is time our judges and staff need to be compensated for as well as other services or resources that require funding.

Are there submission limits per creator?
No, there is no limit to submissions per producer, but each submission will need a new registration fee.

If my series is not selected, will you refund the registration money?
There are no refunds.

How does the selection process work?
1-The festival team receives applications, then evaluates all content to ensure it meets our guidelines and standards.

2-Then the team ensures each submission are in the correct judging category. Sub categories are determined to best capture each group of submissions and to showcase the best selections.

3-The panels will be defined for these determined subcategories and judges selected from throughout the industry to ensure the best representation.

4-All submissions are judged by the panel to find the top nominations for the year to go to the final round of judging where final ranking will determine the final winner for each category.

PLEASE READ THE RULES & TERMS BEFORE SUBMITTING.

Please submit a MAXIMUM of 30 minutes from your series for our judges. This can be a straight 30 minute excerpt, it could be a “highlight reel” of sorts, or anything in between. It is entirely up to you to decide what gets included in your submission, but know that is the primary thing our judges will use for acceptances, nominations, and awards. If your submission is longer than 30 minutes, initial judging will be just on that first 30 minutes.

For audio-only submissions, when you join FilmFreeway, you can upload your audio file by categorizing your work as “Music/Songwriting”. It’s currently the only category that allows you to upload audio-only files.

NOTE: When creating your Project, choose "Music/Songwriting" this will allow your submission to be an audio file.

3. If you are selected, and if we get enough submissions we may ask for a truncated version of your project for live screening purposes. This will not affect your award consideration, as judges will be viewing your project in its entirety from your original submission.

4. Actual Play video projects that have a spoken language other than English must be subtitled in English. If your audio is in a language other than English we need you to provide a video with transcriptions added in English.

5. Actual Play creators. All audio-only projects should submit as “Actual Play Audio" and all livestreams and pre-recorded/edited video projects should submit as "Actual Play Video”. Your submission must be a maximum of 30 minutes, which you could submit an excerpt of an episode, or create a highlight reel of sorts. If you have any questions at all, contact info@coloradowebfest.com

6. Official Selections will be announced on or before April 2026.

7. Award nominees will be announced May 2026.

8. Event date: September 25-28, 2025
