Coby started his career as an editor for the local news in Beaumont, TX with wide-eyed hopes of one day becoming a SportsCenter anchor. He got his chance working on-camera at Delta State University covering the Fighting Okra sports teams. Seeing his chops were clearly lacking, he found his home behind the camera. His directing and editing skills eventually caught the eye of the NFL, where he worked for the Arizona Cardinals for five seasons, winning four Emmy awards during his time there.

After moving on from sports, Coby realized he wanted to broaden his horizons, shifting his focus to documentary and narrative filmmaking. He's since written, directed and produced multiple short films that have played in festivals around the country. When he's not working he's spending time with his fiancé Maddie and their dog Maxine.
