Clive Saunders was born and raised in London. He started life on the London fringe producing and acting in plays such as 'True West' by Sam Shepard and 'The Dream Coast' by John Steppling.
In 1993 he acted and produced 'Scenes From The Buried Life' a portmanteau of Charles Bukowski short stories from 'South of No North' which transferred from London to Los Angeles.
In 1997 he wrote his first play 'Fishtank', which he directed and was produced at the Finborough Theatre in London. It was a dark comedy about the lives, loves and struggles of a bunch of drug dependent, nocturnal mini-cab drivers (prototype Uber drivers) in North West London in 1983.
In 1998 he adapted 'Love for $17.50' from a Charles Bukowski short story and shot it on the streets of Los Angeles guerilla-style and it screened at the Egyptian theatre for the American Cinematheque short film series.
Saunders co-wrote and directed the feature film' Gacy' in 2002 released worldwide by Lionsgate.
In 2016 Clive returned to filmmaking by acting and producing the experimental feature 'Dancing Day' and the short documentary 'The Last Schvitz' before producing and directing the feature film 'The Bangkok Job'.
