Cinema POP Selection is an international curated competition dedicated to contemporary moving image, based in London.

Positioned between film festival and art-oriented curatorial space, the Selection presents works that explore cinema as form, authorship, and cultural expression. Set in one of London's most vibrant creative venues — Coal Drops Yard, King's Cross — Cinema POP Selection connects independent filmmaking with a wide, culturally engaged audience.

We are interested in films with a strong artistic identity and a clear contemporary language. The programme welcomes experimental, hybrid, documentary, and narrative works that demonstrate formal integrity and creative intent.

Each edition takes place within a specific cultural context while maintaining a consistent artistic direction. Selected films are presented in live public screenings across two days and evaluated by a curatorial jury.

In its first edition (2025), over 300 films were submitted from more than 40 countries, with 20 works selected for the official programme.

Finalist works may also be considered for digital exhibition on a dedicated independent streaming platform focused on art, culture, and creative cinema — offering filmmakers extended visibility beyond the live event.

Selected Films

Approximately 20–30 films will be selected by the curatorial jury and presented during the live edition of Cinema POP Selection.
All selected works will be screened publicly as part of the official programme.

Awards

Three main awards will be granted:

• Art & Moving Image Award

• Curated Spotlight Award

For us, THE INVENTION, it was a fantastic experience to have a film without dialogues being seen by people from all over the world, from different languages, and being understood in its essence by everyone. Art really is universal and has its language integrating all cultures. Thank you very much San Gennaro Pop, we are proud that a film from the interior of a state in the extreme south of Brazil has been selected and endorsed in this popular and democratic festival. Long live the festival.
