1 – INTRODUCTION
Cinebike Short is the competitive section of Cinebike, the film festival experienced by bicycle.
The Festival promotes film culture and themes related to slow travel, sustainable development, and the idea of the future.
The 4th edition of Cinebike Shorts will take place in Palmanova (Udine) from June 11 to 15, 2026.
1.1 – Competitive Sections
The official competitive program aims to promote young filmmakers and the short film format. It includes two sections:
CINEBIKE SHORTS: an international short film competition for directors under 35, open to films of any genre with a running time of 20 minutes or less, competing for the Cinebike Award and the MyMovies Cinebike Audience Award.
CINEBIKE SHORTS EDUCATIONAL: a national short film competition for works produced within film education contexts, i.e. films created as part of activities carried out in schools or audiovisual language workshops. Open to films of any genre with a running time of 30 minutes or less, competing for the Cinebike Educational Award.
The Festival also reserves the right to include non-competitive programs and special screenings, regardless of content or year of production.
1.2 – Awards and Juries
The awards assigned to the Cinebike Shorts Competition are:
Cinebike Award for Best Short Film, assigned by a qualified and independent jury appointed by the Festival’s Artistic Direction. The award includes a cash prize of €600.
MYmovies Cinebike Audience Award: a special mention awarded by the audience of the MyMovies ONE online platform.
The award assigned to the Cinebike Shorts Educational Competition is:
Cinebike Educational Award for Best Short Film, assigned by a jury composed of students from the Festival’s partner schools.
The juries also reserve the right to assign additional awards to the films in competition.
2 – RULES OF PARTICIPATION
2.1 – Cinebike Shorts General Regulations
– Eligibility Requirements
Only works by directors under 35 years of age (age at the time of the film’s release) addressing themes related to slow mobility, sustainable development, and the idea of the future are eligible.
Films must have been completed after January 1, 2024, and have a running time of 20 minutes or less, including end credits.
– Submission Deadline
Film registration and link submission must be completed by March 31, 2026.
Films must be submitted via the online form available on the Festival’s official website:

Upon completion of registration, a confirmation email will be sent to the address provided as the primary contact. Submission implies full acceptance of these regulations.
– Submission Format
Links (with password if required) from major digital platforms are accepted, including Vimeo, YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox, and MyAirBridge.
Temporary file transfer links (e.g. WeTransfer) are not accepted.
Links must be functional, properly subtitled, and valid throughout the entire selection process.
– Subtitles
Films in languages other than Italian or English must include subtitles in one of these two languages.
– Exclusions
Films previously submitted to past editions of the Festival or already distributed online are not eligible.
2.2 – Cinebike Shorts Educational General Regulations
– Eligibility Requirements
Only works produced in Italy within film education contexts are eligible, such as school programs or other initiatives aimed at non-professionals. Films produced within professional film schools are not eligible.
Films must have been completed after January 1, 2024, and have a running time of 30 minutes or less, including end credits.
– Submission Deadline
Registration is free of charge and link submission must be completed by March 31, 2026.

2.3 – Rights Declaration
The applicant guarantees that they hold the necessary rights to submit the film. The Festival reserves the right to request appropriate documentation and to reject the submission if such documentation is not provided.
3 – GUIDELINES FOR SELECTED FILMS
Admission to the competition is at the discretion of the Festival Direction.
The authors, production companies, or distributors of selected works must comply with the instructions of the Festival’s organizational office regarding the handling and delivery of screening copies. Additionally, for promotional and editorial purposes, the following materials must be provided: 3 film stills; synopsis; technical sheet; director(s) bio-filmography and headshot.
The Festival’s organizational office will promptly inform the authors of selected works of the screening schedule.
All submitted films will receive written notification of the selection outcome at the email address provided during submission. Due to the high number of submissions, the Festival is unable to provide individual feedback on selection decisions.
For films with audio in languages other than Italian, it is mandatory to provide a dialogue list in Italian or English for subtitle preparation. Failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification.
Authorizations
By submitting a film, directors, producers, or rights holders authorize the following:
Publication of their information on the Festival’s website and in the catalog;
Distribution of this information to the press for promotional purposes;
Inclusion in the Festival’s mailing list, in accordance with current regulations.
4 – PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING
Information pursuant to Article 13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (Privacy Code).
Data collected through the submission form will be processed by the association Videomante exclusively for institutional activities and will be used by the Festival’s organizational office for informational purposes, including the sending of communications by email.
In this regard, the association Videomante informs that any data subject has the right to exercise the rights provided by the Privacy Code, in particular the right to know the nature and type of data held by the association, to request their integration or rectification, as well as to exercise, at any time, the right to object to data processing and to the receipt of communications by email, including the consequent request for data deletion.
