Friends of the Earth Malta is organising the fourth edition of ĊineAmbjent, a community-centred environmental film festival happening in autumn 2026 in Floriana (and other localities around) Malta.

We’re looking for films that explore environmental and social justice themes in creative, thought-provoking, or inspiring ways:
 • Short films & feature-length films
 • Local, international & foreign productions
 • Independent, experimental, fictional, animated or documentary work
 • Local, international & foreign productions
• Films for children and other audiences
 • Submissions with or without a screening fee
Some screenings will include post-film discussions to spark meaningful dialogue with audiences.

Rules & Terms

The movies must be available at least 3 weeks in advance of screening. There will be 1 screening event on each of the following months: June, July, August, September (exact dates still tbc). The rest of the movies will be screening during the festival in October.

Films without an environmental theme or background will not be considered.
