Chuck Gordon is a multiple award-winning screenwriter with his first feature film script, ALPHA CHASE. The high-octane, sci-fi actioner follows a teenage, Lunar-born soldier who witnesses the death of his commanding officer and begins an investigation that uncovers the secret military plot to prolong the decades-long world war on Earth.
Growing up a huge sci-fi fan, Chuck was tired of always seeing the same old apocalyptic movies where the downtrodden, dirty citizens, dressed in rags and sporting punk haircuts, travel in a certain direction on the compass while looking for food, water or fuel. This inspired him to be original by turning the genre around 180 degrees and writing ALPHA CHASE, not just as science fiction, but as science possible.
Science "possible" is the commentary of how we're living our lives today. Mankind are the rock stars trashing the luxury suite, fully expecting to up and move to the next hotel. Living on Mars may be an option in the very far and distant future, but let's face it: not all of us are going to get off this planet. And with the depleting ozone, melting polar icecaps, powerful hurricanes, wildfires, heat domes - there's only one thing that we can do if we want to survive on Earth...
An anti-war story, ALPHA CHASE also makes predictions on how future wars could be fought. Satellite surveillance, drone warfare, soldier recruitment, one aspect of Chuck's "possible" future has already come true: Massive Ordnance Penetrators (M.O.P.) were used for the first time on June 22, 2025. And with the Artemis II returning to the moon, another element of ALPHA CHASE has a chance of becoming reality.
Chuck received a B.A. from Cal State University, Northridge in Film Production (RTVF). It was there where he took his initial scriptwriting classes and then had some early success after graduation. An actor on L.A. LAW read Chuck's script and showed it to his agent, who was impressed enough to set up a pitch meeting on the original QUANTUM LEAP. Also, after writing a spec STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION script, Chuck landed a WGA Writing Internship on STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE where he took notes on the big whiteboard as the writing staff, including Ira Steven Behr and Ronald D. Moore, broke the episodes: RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, HARD TIME, THE MUSE, SHATTERED MIRROR, FOR THE CAUSE, and THE QUICKENING.
But being on those futuristic sets, as opposed to sitting in an office all day, was the bigger draw for Chuck, and he made the decision to move from the writers' room to the sound stage.
For years, Chuck worked on-set on several major motion pictures and top television series as a Video Playback Operator. He was Steven Spielberg's video projectionist on MINORITY REPORT, and worked on all of Shonda Rhimes' shows that shot in Los Angeles, except one. Now retired from on-set work, Chuck is again trying his hand at writing scripts to see if he can repeat those early successes. Not too shabby so far: to date, ALPHA CHASE has won 15 National and International awards - seven in 2026 alone.
The comps are: "TOP GUN: MAVERICK(s)" fly "FAST & FURIOUS" during "FALLOUT." Chuck has plans for ALPHA CHASE as a feature film, then as a 10-episode per seven season television/streaming series and it is available for option or development.
Once an avid private pilot, scuba diver and ice hockey player, Chuck got married, bought a house in the Inland Empire, and now the best thing about him is his beautiful wife, Freddie Mae Maxie, who was a featured dancer on the long-running TV show, SOUL TRAIN.
