Christopher Larson is an award-winning documentary filmmaker with over 8 years of experience in storytelling. Originally from the U.S., he holds two Master’s degrees from the University of Oxford and lives in Berlin with his wife, baby boy, and baby girl.
Christopher’s work explores the intersections of identity, belonging, and resilience. He has directed multiple short documentaries that have screened at international festivals and received numerous awards. His film The Fisherman’s Net won Best Short Documentary and Best Character-Driven Documentary, while his latest work, Distilled, was awarded Best Documentary and is set to screen as part of Refugee Week Berlin in 2025.
Guided by a deep respect for his subjects, Christopher brings an ethical, intimate lens to every story he tells—whether set in coastal fishing communities or across borders shaped by displacement. His films strive to make the invisible seen, fostering connection and empathy through compelling character-driven narratives.
With each project, Christopher seeks to bridge cultural divides and spotlight voices that might otherwise go unheard—always with honesty, humility, and care.
