Chris Leyva is a Mexican American filmmaker and storyteller from San Diego, California, dedicated to bringing authentic Latino voices to the screen. A Navy veteran turned director, Chris has spent the past decade building a strong creative network of Latino artists both in front of and behind the camera. His feature film Horchata with Oatmilk marks a bold step into Latino comedy, blending sharp humor with heartfelt social commentary on gentrification, brotherhood, and cultural identity.
Before Horchata with Oatmilk, Chris directed the award-winning short film Addicted2U, which earned festival recognition for its powerful dramatic storytelling. As a rising independent filmmaker, he continues to develop projects through his production company, Lv&E Entertainment, with a mission to represent the underrepresented and build a new era of Latino cinema.
