The Chicanx Latinx Film Festival is a premier event dedicated to showcasing the entirety of human experience from the Latine perspective, whether through film, digital, music, art, or any other vehicle, regardless of platform. We seek to showcase, strengthen, and celebrate the richness of Latine lives by providing a pipeline, platform, and launching pad from our community into the entertainment industry.

Based in Los Angeles, California, a city known for its appeal as the ‘Hollywood’ industry capital of the world, the festival encourages interaction and engagement through film and events. The festival features in-person live screenings, filmmaking and industry panels at the University Student Union Theatre at California State University, Los Angeles.

We are looking forward and remain highly excited to see the passion projects you have been working on.

Founder,
Dr. Lani Cupchoy

Filmmakers whose work is accepted into our festival will receive a laurel as well as free passes to screenings, invitations to networking events and are eligible for awards consideration.

*We understand that each project is a labor of love and therefore take careful consideration of each project. We do not provide feedback for reasons why a film project was not selected for film festival programming.

Rules: Your film will be eliminated from selection if it is not representative of the Chicanx Latinx community.

The Chicanx Latinx Film Festival programs films made by creatives (directors, producers, screenwriters, designers) of Latine heritage and of all levels of experience. In programming work for the Festival, the Chicanx Latinx Film Festival strives to represent a diversity of ideas, themes, and genres, in addition to a diversity of Chicana/o/x and Latina/o/x (people connected to Latin America - Mexico, Central America, South American, Cuba, Puerto Rico, etc).

The Chicanx Latinx Film Festival's priority and focus is to present media artworks that reflect the artistic vision of a person of Chicane-Latine heritage while also providing a space for the artist to have their work presented to the public. We give preference to students, faculty and alumni from California State University Los Angeles but are also open to films emerging from the Chicanx-Latinx community.

The Chicanx Latinx Film Festival only considers works that meet the following criteria:
