Charlie T. Savage is a Navy veteran, New Orleans native, and award-winning writer, director, and producer who creates bold, thrilling, and sometimes hilarious stories that center the Black female experience. Her work often explores the idea that villains are not born but created.
Savage’s produced credits include Voices (feature film, co-writer/producer, 2026), My House (short film, writer, 2026), Hard Truths (shorts series, writer/director, 2026), and Glory Obscured (executive producer, 2025).
Charlie has earned multiple honors, cementing her momentum as a rising voice in film and television. She has received Best Pilot Script in the Diversity Initiative at the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards. She was also selected for the narrative program at the Annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF), for her latest feature film, marking a major milestone for the creator. She is a 2025 Disability Belongs Entertainment Lab Fellow and a proud mentee in the 2026 Writers Guild Foundation Veterans Writing Project.
Savage is serves a member of Veterans in Media & Entertainment (VME), where she participated in the most recent cohort STARZ #TakeTheLead program. She serves as an Associate Producer on the Sista Brunch podcast, home to one of the largest archives of stories spotlighting Black women and gender-expansive creatives thriving in the entertainment industry.
In addition, Charlie serves as the Media and Communications Board Chair and Post Adjutant of the historic Hollywood American Legion Post 43, where she leads communications strategy and operates as the senior operations officer supporting organizational leadership at one of the nation’s most prominent veteran communities.
