"More haze!"
César Chiquito (1994) is an Afro-descendant director, photographer and screenwriter from Veracruz. His work is characterized by evidencing gender perspective issues and being framed as part of his narrative in an exercise of self-reflection.
He graduated in communication, specializing in screenwriting from the Faculty of Cinema and documentary film at the Faro de Aragón. He has directed a large number of video clips for artists on the indie scene (Matisse, Fede Farrell, Brenda Rosh) and collaborated in documentary series for public television such as "Muerte sin fin" and " Un día en la vida" on Channel 22. He directed four episodes of the series “Amor y amistad”, produced by Gravedad Cero Films for Canal Once.
Nominated for "Best Music Video" at the 2022 Pantalla de Cristal Festival for the video clip "Sigo Viva". His first documentary short film "Machos" (2018) was part of the official selection of renowned festivals in Mexico and the United States, such as Ambulante, MIC Género and Dunedin International Film Festival.
He is currently the director and founder of the Little Bros production house, a teacher at Asociación Mexicana de Cineastas Independientes (AMCI), and a participant in the "Diplomado en escritura" of the Sociedad General de Escritores Mexicanos (SOGEM). His most recent documentary creation, “El Último Round”, received the SACPC 2021 – 2022 Young Creators award (formerly FONCA).
