Catarina Accioly is from Pernambuco and has lived in Brasília since she was a child. Graduated in Performing Arts from UnB, she specialized in audiovisual direction at EICTV, Cuba. She has worked with art for 30 years, whether as a producer, actress and/or screenwriter and director for theater, cinema and TV.
In cinema, she wrote and directed A Matter of Time, Among Colors and Razors and The Obscene Miss D; awarded and shown in more than 100 festivals and on the channels: AXN, Canal Curta and SESC TV.
Catarina debuts as a feature director with the documentary Rodas de Gigante - Wheels of a Giant, which received the Awards for Best Film, best direction, editing and a special jury award for best moment, all at the Brasília Festival of Brazilian Cinema - Mostra Brasília.
Between 2009 and 2016, she worked as a public TV coordinator where she scripted and directed documentaries and special videos on: "Family Farming in Brazil", "Territories of Citizenship", "Contemporary Rural Brazil", "Family Farming in Mercosul"; the series "Reports on Slavery in Brazil”, in addition to numerous short documentaries about rural women and the preservation of the Legal Amazon, among other topics linked to human rights, education, food, sustainability, decent work, among others.
In theater, she participated in more than 30 shows, with emphasis on the shows under the baton of master Hugo Rodas and in the fruitful directing and directing partnership with William Ferreira at Coletivo Sala de Estar: "The Obscene Miss D", "Dona Bolota " and "Deu Trelelê na Família SA". She also directed "Tecendo Volúpias" by the As Caixeiras CIA de Bonecas Group.
Catarina is the founder of Stelios Produções and her mission is to develop content in different languages and that focuses on expanding perspectives for a better, fairer and more equal world; aligned with the 17 UN SDGs for the 2030 Agenda.
