The Lake Placid Film Festival and Catalyst Story Institute are excited to present the Catalyst Episodic Showcase at the 22nd Lake Placid Film Festival (November 7-10, 2024). Catalyst is accepting video and pitch entries for new television, webseries, and podcasts currently in the development phase. A curated selection of episodic video and pitches will be chosen by the Catalyst team to screen in the showcase with winning pitches presenting in person at the film festival.

This showcase does NOT accept feature films or short films. Please visit the Lake Placid Film Festival website for those competitions.

About Catalyst Story Institute: Official mentorship partner of the National Academy of TV Arts & Sciences. Catalyst champions narrative and episodic storytellers of all career levels. Our year-round institute program and festival events support artists as they develop their stories and advance their careers. Catalyst lowers the barriers between creators, producers, and the industry.

-Entries must be at least 15 minutes in length and no more than 60 minutes per episode.
-Entry fee (must be paid online via FilmFreeway).
- VIDEO entries: only allowed to submit 1 video file (for example, if you’re submitting 3 episodes, they have to be strung together in one playable video file). Credits do not need to be present between each episode. Credits all at the very end is preferable.
-PITCH entries: please submit a PDF document only. No exceptions.
-PITCH entries IMPORTANT: There is no virtual option, you be present in-person to participate. Pitch World will take place during the festival in Lake Placid, NY
-SCRIPT entries: While in-person attendance is not required for award consideration, it is required if you wish to participate in our table reads.

ENHANCED SUBMISSIONS
- Enhanced submissions will be provided with thorough feedback, an optional meeting to discuss, and the opportunity to resubmit an edited version of your project for award consideration.
- The enhanced submission fee includes the cost of submitting an edited project; feedback will include your code to resubmit at no cost. If you cannot find your resubmission code on your feedback form, please contact office@catalystories.com
- Feedback will be provided to you at the email address used in your submission. You will receive it no later than July 1, 2024.
- The final edited version of your project MUST be submitted to the intended competition category by the Regular Deadline. No exceptions will be made. If you do not submit an edited version by this deadline, Catalyst reserves the right to use your original submission for award consideration.
- Participation is designed to provide valuable feedback and the opportunity to improve the quality of your submission, but DOES NOT guarantee selection.

LIABILITY
Every possible care will be taken with DCPs while in our possession, however, we cannot accept responsibility for loss, damage or additional charges incurred en route, or due to normal wear and tear, or due to equipment failure. Do NOT send original prints or master copies.

Additionally, Catalyst and Lake Placid Film Festival are held harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity or screening of any film.

WAIVER POLICY
There are no submissions waivers. We aim to keep our fees reasonable, and encourage all applicants to take advantage of our early and official deadlines to save on submission fees. If you have any questions, please contact us at office@catalystories.com.
