Carol Dorn has 3 short films on the festival circuit for 2023-24: most recently "Fresh Scent" which made it's world premier at the Florence Film Awards with Honorable Mention. "Fresh Scent" was written and directed by Ms. Dorn, Music by Katherine Dorn Lewis. This short is a spin-off of one of the characters from her play DISCLOSURE FROM A CLOAK ROOM which premiered in London and is currently in development for a feature.
"Sunday" screenplay by Kathi Kennedy staring Natasha Coppola-Shalom and Jessica DiSalvo, with music by Louis Robert King. This short has already had several wins and was chosen by the non-profit organization Ladiesatlunch.org to launch Domestic Violence Awareness month in New York, NY in October of '22.
"F<cking Wallpaper" is the 3rd short with screenplay by Carol Dorn starring Katherine Elliot with incidental music by Ms. Dorn and premiering the song "Drama Queen" by Alicia Borkowska of Poland.
Carol has just finished doing sound on a short "Love From Friends" screenplay by Elise Marenson, dir. Dana Offenbach Producers: Terry Lawler, Dana Offenbach
Prior to that Carol shot a segment on street artist Chris Riggs that is being developed by producer Dawn Robinson of Dark Moon Entertainment who is also serving as show runner.
To her director's chair she brings a breadth and depth of experience adding strength as actor, stage hand, board op, set decorator, scenic artist, set designer, sound designer, musician (Princeton Foundation Recipient), stage manager (A.E.A.), company manager, production tour manager (Lincoln Center, Ballet Hispanico), lighting designer (Obie Nominated), gaffer, sound mixer, house manager, location wardrobe supervisor, screenwriter (optioned by New Line/FineLine, Universal etc., member of the Harlem Screenwriters Lab) and producer. She has brought her expertise to both stage and film sets for Lincoln Center, Williamstown Theater Festival, Ballet Hispanico, Pilobolus, Momix, WOW cafe, Five Lesbian Brothers, National Broadway Tours (Nonsense II: The Second Coming), Broadway Bares, and The Emmys Readings at HBO. Her various skills have been engaged by NBC, Entertainment Tonight, PBS, Bravo and The Toyota Comedy Festival.
For New York Women In Film & Television she was honored to be selected as director, presenter and moderator for the 2018 Writers Lab winners created and funded by Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman. In that grouping "On the Wings" by Lyn Esta Goldman was selected to the short list for the 2019 Oscars Nichols Fellowship Award.
