My name is Carley Wymer, I am a 25 year old filmmaker from Ohio, USA. Before I discovered my passion for film I received my BA in Biology from Miami University, and went on to work in animal rehabilitation and veterinary work for a couple years. Along the way I realized how much I missed filmmaking, which I had dabbled in through a co-major program for Film Studies at MU. I swallowed my pride and moved back home to save money for a film master's program where I could learn more technical skills. Feeling adventurous (and tired of Ohio), I chose Queen's University Belfast in Ireland.

As an academic I have done research in queer cinema studies since my time in undergrad. As a writer and filmmaker I mostly deal in realism, favoring slow cinema and minimal narratives. These days my specialty is video editing, though I still fill many days writing and directing with friends. What drew me to film was its ability to provoke emotion, and I continue to make that my priority in all my work.
