  • Jake McGarry

Thrilled to have been selected as a finalist with my first short film script. Encourages me to keep pursuing this, which is worth every penny of the admission fee. Thanks

Jake thank you and we wish you all the best in the future.

  • Anna Grey

My script was shortlisted as a semi- finalist. It would have been good to have done feedback; however, understand that was part of the competition. I was also well supported as a dyslexic writer. Thank you so much to all involved.

    Response from festival:

As a dyslexic writer I think you did brilliant Anna. Thanks for the review. If you ever run a comp like this you would understand how difficult it is to give everyone feedback. One of our judges will give feedback but it costs extra Anna.

  • Great chance for work to be reviewed and celebrated.

  • Robin Johnston

Was great to hear my script was listed as a finalist, however would have been great if some more in depth feedback was included in order for me to improve my abilities as a short film writer. Thanks again for reading my script.

    Response from festival:

Hi Robin, an in depth view is possible via one of our judges, but alas it costs more. It's difficult to run a comp and give in depth feedback to everyone for the entry fee we ask.

Not many festivals take the time to personally call you with the submission results... especially from a different continent! The Caledonia Short Script Competition shows great respect to the writers and the craft itself with the level of care they display.
