GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. Registration is free of charge.
2. Submissions must be made exclusively through the festival's official platforms (FilmFreeWay and FestHome). Entries outside these platforms will not be accepted.
3. Directors, producers, and/or those responsible for the submission may enter more than one short film.
4. The entry must be a student project completed between January 1, 2025, and June 20, 2026.
5. By participating, entrants accept all festival conditions, including the screening of the submitted material in public and private media for promotional purposes.
6. The representing university or institute must appear in the credits.
7. Short films must have a runtime between 1 and 15 minutes (including credits), according to the specifications of each category: Fiction, Documentary, Animation, and New Narratives.
8. The "Short Film Poster" category corresponds to a graphic piece representing a short film participating in the four categories mentioned in point 7.
9. In the event of winning an award or mention and being unable to attend the award ceremonies in person (Bogotá or Cartagena), the participant must cover the shipping costs of the award to their place of residence.
10. Short films produced in a language other than Spanish must include subtitles in English or Spanish.
SELECTION PROCESS
- The selection of short films or audiovisual material will be carried out in two stages: the first by the festival team and the second by a jury commission appointed by the festival directorate.
- The CINESTESIA FEST organization reserves the right to exhibit participating works in any public or private media for festival promotion purposes.
- The festival may withdraw or disqualify any short film or audiovisual product at any time if it fails to comply with the established rules or if false information was provided during registration.
- If a short film is part of the Official Selection, the director or producer will be contacted via the email registered at the time of entry to provide documentation certifying the university affiliation of the project. Failure to respond within 5 calendar days of notification will result in disqualification.
- If a short film is part of the Official Selection, the director or producer must ensure the file is available for download from the platform for the festival's official screening. If the download is not available, the short film will be disqualified.

CATEGORIES
FICTION SHORT FILM
Awards excellence in fictional cinematic storytelling, highlighting character development, dramatic structure, and technical quality in stories created from original or adapted scripts. Runtime: 1 to 15 minutes, including credits.
DOCUMENTARY SHORT FILM
Recognizes works that explore reality through a creative lens, using audiovisual language to document facts, social issues, personal portraits, or research with an artistic approach. Runtime: 1 to 15 minutes, including credits.
ANIMATION SHORT FILM
A category dedicated to short films using animation techniques (2D, 3D, stop motion, etc.) to bring stories to life, valuing visual innovation, art design, and narrative fluidity. Runtime: 1 to 15 minutes, including credits.
EXPERIMENTAL SHORT FILM / NEW NARRATIVES
A space for works that challenge traditional cinematic language conventions, exploring abstract forms, non-linear narratives, and the use of new technologies or hybrid formats. Runtime: 1 to 15 minutes, including credits.
9:16 SHORT FILM (Vertical)
A category dedicated to works conceived and produced exclusively in a 9:16 aspect ratio. It values the filmmaker's ability to adapt cinematic language, framing, and composition to verticality, exploring new visual aesthetics of the digital era. Runtime: 1 to 10 minutes, including credits.
SHORT FILM POSTER
A3 format, PDF or JPG, at 300 dpi, RGB. (Only posters belonging to a short film registered in this edition may participate).

CONDICIONES GENERALES
1. La inscripción es gratuita.
2. Las inscripciones deberán ser realizadas solo por las plataformas dispuestas por el festival (FilmFreeWay y FestHome). No se recibirán inscripciones por fuera de la plataforma indicada.
3. El realizador, productor y/o responsable de la inscripción podrá postular más de un cortometraje.
4. El producto debe ser proyecto estudiantil finalizado entre el 1 de enero de 2025 y el 20 de junio de 2026.
5. Al participar se acepta todas las condiciones del festival, incluyendo la proyección del material entregado al concurso en medios públicos y privados, con fines de difusión.
6. En los créditos debe aparecer la universidad o instituto que representa.
7. Participarán cortos con un tiempo entre 1 y 15 minutos (incluyendo créditos) de acuerdo con la especificación de cada categoría: ficción, documental, animación, nuevas narrativas.
8. La categoría “cartel cortometraje” corresponde a una pieza gráfica representativa de un cortometraje participante en las cuatro categorías mencionadas en el punto 7.
9. En caso de ser ganador de algún premio o mención y no poder asistir de manera presencial a las galas de premiación (Bogotá o Cartagena), el participante deberá asumir el costo del envío del reconocimiento a su lugar de residencia.
10. Es necesario que los cortometrajes realizados en un idioma diferente al español, tengan subtítulos en ingles - español.
SELECCIÓN
- La selección de los cortos o material audiovisual será realizada por medio de dos etapas: la primera por parte del equipo del festival y la segunda por parte de una comisión de jurados, nombrada por la dirección del festival.
- La organización de CINESTESIA FEST se reservará el derecho de exhibir, en cualquier medio de comunicación público o privado, las obras participantes con fines de divulgación del festival.
- El festival podrá retirar o descalificar en cualquier momento un corto o producto audiovisual que no cumpla las normas establecidas o que haya suministrado información falsa en el momento de inscripción.
- Si el cortometraje es parte de la selección oficial, el director o productor será contactado por medio del correo electrónico registrado al momento de inscribirse, para que proporcione la documentación que certifique la filiación universitaria del producto. En caso de no recibir respuesta dentro de los 5 días calendario posteriores a la notificación el cortometraje será descalificado.
- Si el cortometraje es parte de la selección oficial, el director o productor debe garantizar la descarga desde la plataforma para la muestra oficial del festival. En caso de no presentarse la descarga el cortometraje será descalificado.

CATEGORIAS
CORTOMETRAJE FICCIÓN
Premia la excelencia en la narrativa cinematográfica de ficción, destacando la construcción de personajes, la estructura dramática y la calidad técnica en historias creadas a partir de guiones originales o adaptados. Duración entre 1 y 15 minutos, incluyendo créditos.
CORTOMETRAJE DOCUMENTAL
Reconoce obras que exploran la realidad desde una mirada creativa, utilizando el lenguaje audiovisual para documentar hechos, problemáticas sociales, retratos personales o investigaciones con un enfoque artístico. Duración entre 1 y 15 minutos, incluyendo créditos.
CORTOMETRAJE ANIMACIÓN
Categoría dedicada a cortometrajes que utilizan técnicas de animación (2D, 3D, stop motion, etc.) para dar vida a historias, valorando la innovación visual, el diseño de arte y la fluidez narrativa. Duración entre 1 y 15 minutos, incluyendo créditos.
CORTOMETRAJE EXPERIMENTAL / NUEVAS NARRATIVAS
Espacio para obras que desafían las convenciones del lenguaje cinematográfico tradicional, explorando formas abstractas, narrativas no lineales y el uso de nuevas tecnologías o formatos híbridos. Duración entre 1 y 15 minutos, incluyendo créditos.
CORTOMETRAJE 9:16 (vertical)
Categoría dedicada a obras concebidas y producidas exclusivamente en una relación de aspecto 9:16. Se valora la capacidad del realizador para adaptar el lenguaje cinematográfico, el encuadre y la composición a la verticalidad, explorando nuevas estéticas visuales propias de la era digital. Duración entre 1 y 10 minutos, incluyendo créditos.
CARTEL CORTOMETRAJE: Formato A3, PDF o JPG, a 300 dpi. RGB (solo podrán participar los carteles que pertenezcan a un cortometraje inscrito en esta edición)
