GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The 11th edition of the Carballo Interplay festival, to be held in Carballo, Galicia, from 4th to 7th April 2024, has launched a call for entries for the official competition.
Series produced between 2023 and 2024 that have at least 3 episodes will be eligible for the competition.
The episodes can be awaiting release or already released on any streaming or online video platform.
The maximum duration of the episodes must not be more than 30 minutes.
The episodes entered can be of any theme or genre and can be either real image or animation.
REGISTRATION
Registration can be made through the festival's website www.carballointerplay.com by filling in the registration form or through the Filmfreeway online platform.
Registration is completely free.
The closing date for registration is the 22nd of February 2024.
IMPORTANT: For the registration and viewing of series in languages other than Galician or Spanish, it is mandatory that they are at least subtitled into one of these two languages, or English.
SELECTION AND REQUIRED MATERIALS
If a series is selected, the festival organisers will request with due time the delivery of the required materials for its correct screening and broadcasting as part of the festival's programme.
IMPORTANT: If selected, the organisation will require subtitles in Spanish or Galician for at least one of the episodes of the series if the original version is not in either of these two languages.
JURY AND AWARDS
The jury will be composed of professionals from the audiovisual and digital sector. The jury's decision will be final. The jury has the right to leave any of the categories without an award, or award special mentions to a series or declare any of the awards ex aequo.
The following awards will be given:
-Best series: 800 euros and a trophy.
-Jury Award for Best Newcomer: 400 euros and a trophy.
-Audience Award: 400 euros and a trophy.
-Award for the best direction: 200 euros and a trophy.
If the jury decides that two series should be awarded in the same category, the amount of the award will be divided equally between both of the winners.
The awards will be subject to the tax deductions established by law.
COMMUNICATION
The organisation holds the right to select a sample of the selected series to be used in the official trailer, as well as the right to use the materials (stills/photographs/poster, etc.) for promotion (printed programme, poster, press, internet, social media, etc.).
EXHIBITION RIGHTS
The organisation assumes that the owners of the submitted series have all rights to exhibit and promote the submitted materials and works and declines any responsibility for any infringement of this rule. By submitting materials to the competition, the owners implicitly declare that they own and are authorised to use all the music, video and effects rights in the series. The festival shall not be liable for any claims arising as a result of the fact that creators or producers submitting a series do not hold the rights to the material submitted.
