Burcu Gündüz K studied Industrial Design and met video art while attending to Ulus Baker's lectures at METU, Ankara in 2000-1. She got very excited about video art and editing ideas of Dziga Vertov. She got her MFA in graphic design in 2003, writing a thesis on the electronic music culture "Rave As Carnival" where she discussed the second life of parties as a space of communal unity. After joining the electronic music scene as a live video artist, she created audiovisual art. Then she organized an independent Visual-Jockey art festival VJ Fest İstanbul (2008-2012) and workshops, talks to improve underground art and culture. She wrote about vj art and performed and gave talk in festivals and events; VJ Finland in Helsinki, Live Performers Meeting in Rome, Freemote in Utrecht, Scope Sessions in Berlin, Occupy Yourself in Sofia, Zdravo Mladi in Skopje, Nodefest in İstanbul. After giving hand to an ecological activism in Ida Mountains against the gold mines in 2019-21, she got an art perspective more related to ecology.
