The Brown Girl Empowerment Film Festival (BGEFF) a film festival based in Brooklyn, New York. It is created to shine the light on black and brown female directors, writers and producers from all around the world. Our film festival we will only screen short films. We will select one feature film to screen and highlight for the festival.
There will be an opening night prior to the festival screenings to celebrate the filmmakers and to network will industry professionals.
There will be panel discussions, workshops and a filmmakers meet and greet. Films will be placed in categories for competition and will be awarded cash prizes and certificates.
This festival is open to women of color, ages 16 and up.
We strive to hold an annual competitive film festival for all black and brown women from around the world.
BGEFF will award selected winners with cash prizes, certificates and an opportunity to be featured on our site. BGEFF’s competition and its award system are in line with the festival’s main goal to support talented female filmmakers by evaluating their screened project by a panel of reputable judges and audit favorites.
